This Coastal 17 from Character Boats is a half decker layout, with long keel and bilge keels all with stainless steel keel bands. Developed for coastal sailing with a spacious cockpit making it secure and comfortable. The engine well has a 4HP Yamaha 4 stroke outboard (2020) which is ideal for coming alongside, pottering up river or getting home if the winds dies out. There is a road/launching trailer for cruising different parts of the country. This is a great day boat.

This Character Coastal 17'6" has a wooden Gaff rigged mast and boom with red sails and a roller furling jib on the bowsprit. Stainless steel standing rigging and Terylene running rigging. Mainsail has slab reefing with a grey staypack. Wooden transom hung rudder with a curved tiller arm. and a sail area of approx. 15 sq metres.
