Sleeps two forward in v-berth with filler and cushion. Overhead hatch provides light and ventiliation, and there is a hanging locker aft of the v-berth. Shelves extend along the hull sides on either side of the berth.
Aft of the v-berth is the enclosed head to stb, with opening port, vanity and sink with handheld shower, hot and cold pressure water.
Across to port is the small functional galley- with sink, hot and cold pressure water, 110v/12v fridge/freezer, stove top, and microwave. There is storage under the counter and outboard as well. Also in the galley are the controls forheat and air.
The galley is open to the wheelhouse so that you can prepare lunch or grab provisions while still in contact/conversation with the person at the helm.
Aft and up a few steps is the aforementioned wheelhouse, with bright and airy feel provided by 360 visibility (also a key safety and practical function) through fixed and opening windows, and the aft canvas and eisenglass with zippers and attachments. This is a very versatile area, with a robust and comfortable helm seat (and matching first mate seat to port), bench seat aft to port, and storage cabinet aft to stb (aft of the helm seat). This is a great area for sitting and socializing, sightseeing, etc, enjoying the stereo. Also overhead was replaced by Judge recently, and there is an overhead teak grab rail to keep steady walking though in heavy seas.
It is also an incredibly funtional helm area, affording the captain complete control of the vessel, including the Cummins Smartcraft instruments, thrusters, and various controls, including windlass, as well as electronics from Raymarine and Furuno, VHF, etc. All of these controls are accessed on the "back end" through an opening panel in the head compartment, so there is easy access to the wires.
Through the teak and holly sole of the wheelhouse is an open storage area ("the basement"). The aft wheelhouse canvas enclosure opens to the spacious and functional cockpit, with only two small steps down. The venerable Cummins commonrail diesel sits beneath the fiberglass non-skid sole in the forward end of the cockpit, and there are other access hatches for components such as the generator. There is an additional helm control set on the stb side of this versatile cockpit, and rod holders located all around the gunwhales.
The side decks are easy to navigate with stainless steel handholds at shoulder height and stainless steel rails around the bow. Additional handholds are inboard at seat level on the corners of the forward cabin roof, which also provides a pleasant extra area for sitting at anchor or at the dock, watching the fireworks or the Blue Angels :)
This is a fun, functional, versatile layout for daytripping, cruising, socializing, or picnicking. Easy to enjoy in many ways!
