2006 Beneteau First 40.7

"Green Flash" is a Beneteau 40.7 "Green Flash" is Hull No. 676, one of the last ones made. Just came out of dry dock; fresh bottom; engine parts such as impellers, etc., replaced.  New hatch doors; new holding tank; woodwork all sanded and oiled; Over the years Green Flash has been upgraded in many ways:
Upgraded folding prop, lightly used 40 hp Yanmar diesel and sail drive, hydraulic back stay adjuster; three spreader rod rigging, jib roller furling system; six lewmar winches; , inside and swim step showers, custom grab bar in front of wheel; upgraded jib tracks and fairleads, and new fair lead tracks on rail from mid boat to stem; upgraded electrical system including upgraded controller and charger for fast charging on ocean cruises; LED masthead three color light; Wind and apparent wind gauges, knotmeter; depth sounder. Separate Garmin GPS. Raymarine electronic self steering. VHS and SSB radios. Rudder upgraded with expanded size and stiffened by encasing in carbon fiber to provide positive downwind control in big waves to virtually eliminate roundups. Considering the upgrades and condition, this may be the best 40.7 out there, period. We usually raced the boat competitively with the Pentex roller furling jibs and dacron main, but we do have technora main and 150. And five spinnakers and a code 85 reacher most in nearly new condition, including a .5 oz light weight, .75, 1.2 and and 2.2 oz heavy weight spinnakers. Both aluminium and carbon fiber spinnaker poles. The Bruce Farr designed Beneteau 40. 7 was the most popular 40 foot racer cruiser in history, having sold 73 7 total boats. It points higher and sails faster to windward than comparable boats; and it surfs easily at 14 to 18 nautical miles per hour off the wind. An important feature of the 40.7 is that it was the last racer cruiser made by Beneteau in this size range with a totally solid fiberglass hull: no foam sandwich construction. So the hull will hold its shape and its strength for many years. It is not an ultra light boat at 15,200 lbs.; but nor is it heavy. It enjoys a beautiful and functional wood interior that gives it the feel of a luxury yacht.
