The Hunter 466 was ahead of her time when Hunter Marine added Kevlar to the hull layup and added the "6" to the model name to designate the difference. And they are proven ocean capable with documented circumnavigations by Mike Harker.
Meritimes has the very functional 3 cabin/3 head layout with a large master forward and twin aft cabins. Air and genset are included. Great family cruiser.
Well maintained and lovingly used, she is ready for more adventures. Put her on your short list for sure!

Manufacturer Provided Description
Versatility best describes the Hunter 466. Whether owners want to cross oceans or bays, bang around the buoys or just liveaboard, this boat has the capacity to do it all. The dinette area is large enough to handle the crew, but intimate enough for just two. Storage is plentiful as is the natural light and ventilation. Hand-rubbed teak and exquisite fabrics are in evidence throughout the grand interior. An innovative forward head arrangement splits the shower and head so both can be used at once. A large dual-opening refrigerator and freezer are central to the U-shaped galley. The Force 10 stove and oven, plus a microwave will make dinners a joy to prepare, while the island sink will have cleanup covered. Storage for everything is at hand including the recessed trash receptacle. The forward master stateroom rivals most yachts twice her size. Twin hanging lockers and lots of drawers make staying aboard easy and a great night's sleep is guaranteed by the innerspring mattresses. Entertaining is gracious with the open salon which incorporates a TV and CD stereo. Twin comfortable seats and a convertible cocktail table are located just forward of the extensive nav station with plenty of space for electronics and gear.
A quick walk thru finds the galley to port and the nav station to stbd with the salon forward. Seating in the salon are two captains chairs to stbd and the convertible dinette to port. With extra large hatches and port lights, and with the bright upholstery, the salon is a welcoming area. Yet shades and curtains also provide privacy and cooling from the sun.
Aft to starboard is the day/guest head and shower and to port of the companionway behind the galley is the third cabin. Forward is the large centerline master berth with a separate head to port and shower/head to stbd. Teak is everywhere and lots for cabinets, drawers and cubbies for all the storage items.
The interior environment is controlled by two MarineAire a/c reverse cycle units (a 16K btu unit in the salon also ducted forward) and a 16K btu unit aft.
In this era, Hunter was famous for adding cool stuff to their models. The Hunter 466 galley is a dream. The Corian counters are classy and the overhead shelf/cup rack is uniquely Hunter. A large top and front opening fridge and a separate freezer provide great space for provisioning. The 3 burner propane stove and oven and built in microwave make prep a snap and there is storage galore.
You can not beat the Yanmar 4JH models for reliability and ease of maintenance. Island Time has the turbo charges version that provides 76 hp to a big 3 blade prop. Access is under the companionway stairs and from each aft cabin. Current hours are less than 1500 as of Nov 1, 2019.
110 V electrical power is supplied via:
- 2 x 30 A shore power cords or
- Northern Lights 6 kw diesel genset with 365 hours currently showing on the Hobbs meter
These systems provide A/C power to the interior and the Xantrex Freedom 25 130A battery charger. The batteries are also maintained by the alternator on the Yanmar while underway.
And the Xantrex provides 2500 W of A/C power when needed.
The Nav Station has a Icom IC - M504 VHF is located here.
And the helm is equipped with a large Raymarine E120 Plotter, Raymarine ST60 Speed, Depth and Wind displays and the Raymarine ST6002 Autopilot display.
Entertainment electronics are highlighted by the Aquos TV and Bose sound system in the salon.
The rig is the standard B&G design with the Selden in-mast mainsail and a Furlex head sail furler.
The control lines are all led aft to two big Lewmar 48ST winches on the coach roof along side large Lewmar 44ST winches for the main sheet and furling lines.
The traveler is located over the cockpit on the classic Hunter stainless steel arch with control lines on either side of the cockpit.
The ground tackle is a 35# Delta plow anchor on chain and rope rode running through a Simpson Lawrence electric windlass. A secondary Fortress FX-23 is also in the anchor locker.
The cockpit is large enough for crews to operate or guests to relax. The bimini and dodger are supported by the arch. The standard Hunter stern seats provide the best seat in the house! Canvas covers for the cockpit/pedestal, the companionway and hatch covers are included.
The large swim platform and swin ladder add to the cockpit features.
Included is a Yamaha 6 hp 4 stroke outboard on a stern mount.
The standard Hunter heavy duty nylon/stainless steel rub rail protects the boat while docking.
