Hull Material:
Engine/Fuel Type:
The Hunter 90 is simple to rig and fun to sail - and it makes a great tender as well. This unsinkable vessel is very versatile. For the novice, this boat is easy to sail with its unstayed, two-piece mast and kick-up rudder. The 56-square-foot, mainsheet-controlled sail provides enough power to excite even the most experienced sailor. As a tender, the Hunter 90 can be rowed or motored with ease, handling up to three people. Designed by Rod Johnstone and built with an innovative Advanced Composite Process, this sandwich construction utilizes weatherable ABS plastic, high density foam, and bi-directional cloth. The Hunter 90 is a durable, well-performing, versatile vessel. Advanced Composite Process is a patented combination of Luran S plastic, fiberglass mat, and a specially formulated foam that comes together to produce a boat that is five times more impact resistant than fiberglass - and virtually maintenance-free. It also shines like gelcoat without the tendency to fade. The Hunter Marine Corporation was founded in 1973 to build truly affordable sailboats. Warren Luhrs, Hunter's chairman, has personally logged thousands of ocean miles both single-handedly and shorthanded aboard his ocean racers. From these floating laboratories hundreds of new ideas have been born. The same B & R rig that powered his boats into the record books also power the Hunter fleet. A lot has changed over the years, but Hunter Marine continues its commitment of bringing the sailing public the best performing and most accommodating sailboats at a reasonable price.
