This model Jeanneau was constructed when the interiors were made of real teak. The dark, rich look that comes with the teak finish makes this model look more expensive than it is.
The layout and access in this popular Jeanneau model is a standard 3 cabin/2 head version with the master forward (with ensuite head/shower) and twin berths aft. The galley is to starboard of the companionway. The aft head is to port and works as a very accessible day head while underway.
The salon has the large dinette with seating for 8 to starboard and a comfortable settee and nav station to port.
There is a portable 12K BTU A/C unit available for comfort and a 33" Haier TV for entertainment.
The large L-shaped galley is equipped with very high quality galley ware. There is a large 2 burner LPG stove/oven. Huge Frigaboat refrigerator and Isotherm freezer compartments with separate compressors. Large double, stainless steel sink with hot/cold water supply. Lots of storage and pantry cubbies around.
Auxiliary power is provided by a durable Yanmar 4JH-TE, 75 hp turbocharged diesel. Current hours are about 3000. Propulsion comes from a Max Prop feathering prop. Access is under the companionway stairs with access on the other 3 sides via removable panels.
A complimentary Side Power Bow Thruster is forward.
A Desallator 60L/hr (16 g/h) water maker was installed in 2009. Operating on the 220V genset, the water maker is available any time needed.
Electrical power is a major feature on Bula with a 4 KW Paguro diesel genset (new in 2009), Aerogen Wind generator (new in 2009), 40W of solar power (new in 2012), and a new 2KW inverter installed last year. Besides the engine alternator, there is also a Mastervolt Chargemaster to keep the batteries charged and monitored.
The battery bank is made of 4 x 105AH AGM's and with a 5th separate battery dedicated to the bow thruster.
Here is where Bula really shines for the cruiser. All navigation and communication options are covered.
- Full Raymarine electronics with ST-60 AWI, ST-60 Speed/Depth, ST-60 Autopilot displays (stbd helm)
- Second Raymarine X-30 Smartpilot display at port helm
- Standard Horizon Eclipse VHF
- Furuno Radar on mast mount
- Furuno GPS
- Iridium 9555 Sat Phone in Smart Phone modem cradle and PC link with external antenna
- Target Comms SSB radio

The sail compliment on Bula consists of a fully battened mainsail with 3 reef points (2008 in a lazy bag with lazy jacks, a furling 140% Genoa (2010), a second furling Yankee staysail (2010), and a down wind Asymmetrical spinnaker in a snuffer. To manage the sails there are:
- 6 Lewmar winches with one electric for the main halyard
- Aluminum Spinnaker pole on a mast track
- Aluminum Whisker pole
- Friction drum gybe preventer
- Adjustable back stays
- Rigging upgraded (2008) and recently inspected (2017)
The large twin helm cockpit is great for ease of sailing or entertaining. The center cockpit table is a polyester for strength and no maintenance. A large custom arch is mounted on the transom to provide davits as well as mounting for the solar panels, wind generator and antennae. In addition there is a Magma SS propane grill.
The ground tackle consists of a Rocna 20kg primary anchor on 230' of BBB chain and a secondary Fortress FX-37 on 20' of braided nylon line. It is controlled by a Lofrans 1000 electric windlass.
A 9 ft Caribe RIB with a 15hp Yanmar Enduro 2-stroke outboard (2016) provides easy reliable transportation as well as a means to enjoy the toys. And backup OMC 2hp 2- stroke outboard is also included.
