Gypsy is well known throughout her northeast cruising grounds for being the most highly modified Island Gypsy ever. The 127th model built by the Halvarsen yard in Taiwan, her previous owner spent almost $200,000 customizing her for his needs. He even stretched her from 32 feet LOA to just over 37 feet, arguably making her the fasted single-engine trawler in her class. Full modifications included:
- A hardtop
- A covered cockpit and sidedecks
- A three foot transom extension for a longer waterline and more speed.
- A remarkable "bulbous bow" for a longer waterline and more speed.
- New stainless steel fuel tanks in 2014.
Gypsy has been used mostly as a summer liveaboard in the Hamptons for the last few years. She is now in search of her next owner. Currently docked in Greenport NY, her slip has been paid for the current season. Enjoy all that the Hamptons offer for free this summer, before cruising her south for the winter.
