BRAND NEW LISTING!!
Equipped with a RETRACTABLE Bowsprit!
“Minke” is a sister ship to the well known Lin & Larry Pardey cruiser "Taleisin", custom designed for them by Lyle Hess originating from Lyle Hess Plan No. 177 and called a 30 ft Falmouth Cutter.
“Minke” is a cold molded hull instead of a traditional wood carvel planked or all glass hull commonly found in other Hess models.
She was built in New Zealand in 1992 by artisan owner/shipwright Chris Lowrey for himself and his wife Helen. Chris consulted with Larry Pardey on occasion discussing details of her build. Her construction quality and finish is professional grade. Since her launch “Minke” has cruised the world and has quite a log book of adventures. The second and current owners we have sailed her in the Santa Barbara Channel off southern CA beginning August 2016. “Minke” has enjoyed many upgrades since acquisition in November 2015.
Similar in appearance to a Bristol Channel Cutter she is slightly longer, beamier, heavier and deeper. It appears that Lyle Hess intended to design a better Bristol Channel Cutter!
