This is the right time to get serious about this Moody, ask your questions, and make your plans.
2018 Project Done: All fixed and opening portlights now have new tinted Lexan -- looks great!
Already located in the hurricane-free tropical paradise of Rio Dulce, you really owe it to yourself to fully consider this particular Moody 425! Moody, Taswell, and a list of custom superyachts have long benefited from the able talent of veteran designer Bill Dixon -- yachts well known for ability to sail at least as well as they look. Following a period of storage, this Moody 425 is practically begging for a chance to get back to having fun with new owners aboard and new horizons to raise! Take command, and see your wishes fulfilled by a quality yacht designed for and capable of ocean travel - a Moody!
Over the last five years this yacht has remained in the Rio Dulce area while mainly hauled out in dry storage, and in that time more than $30,000 has been spent in refit and improvements, including: Sanding the hull below the waterline to remove all blisters and then re-gelcoat, the engine has been overhauled (pumps, hoses, head gasket, injectors, glow-plugs, and coupling have been replaced), the teak in the cockpit was replaced, the mast step and its support were rebuilt, all new quality cushions made for the interior, the British 220v cabin electrical was converted to 110v, galley countertops redone, new Jabsco heads and hoses, light fixtures, and some seacocks were replaced.
Your ideal cruising sailboat is already conveniently located in one of the finest cruising areas possible: the pristine Western Caribbean! Now safely tucked up the beautiful Rio Dulce in Guatemala for hurricane season, same-day cruising from the Rio can have you snorkeling or diving the world’s 2nd largest barrier reef – Belize it! Or, it’s just an overnighter away to experience the Bay Islands of Honduras (Utila, Roatan, Guanaja). Farther voyages can have you enjoying Mexico, Jamaica, Caymans, and Panama before returning to the Rio sanctuary year after year, as countless cruisers do. Great Yacht, Great Location… it’s time to have fun!!
