Super fast, well built cruiser/racer in the way only Germany can do. The Dehler 36 needs no promotion.........these are great boats!
Introduced in 1988 and designed by Van de Stadt, the boat is aimed at providing high performance with relative ease of handling. She has a fairly big rig, but with a self-tacking headsail and powerful electric winch she can be managed with a small crew. About 800 were built.
This example has been owned by an experienced yachtsmand for the past 14 years - cruised & lightly raced from Falmouth.
She has a good inventory and service record and has NOTspent extended period in strong UV.
Recent carbon sails, new standing rigging and synthetic teak to the deck - all in a 'ready to sail' condition.

During my ownership of this boat several important advances have been made to an otherwise standard boat which make shorthanded sailing, even single-handed, more manageable and, life aboard more comfortable.
Down below, all the sticky backed wall covering has been replaced. In the fore cabin with plywood and an air gap which prevents any condensation. In the aft cabin the wasted space below the side deck head lockers has been filled with 5 pigeonhole lockers which have the triple benefit of eliminating the Sticky back carpeting, preventing condensation and providing much more clothes storage space. In the galley, the plates and cups lockers have anti rattle nests for the items. The fridge has an anti-spill inner door to hold the contents in place on port tack. All the galley draws have restraints fitted to prevent them from jumping off the tracks if opened too far when on port tack.
On deck, to make life easy there is a small crane to make mounting the outboard to the dinghy much more convenient and safer. There is a remote operating switch to both lower and lift the anchor without having to leave the cockpit. The 25 meters of self stowing chain is usually quite enough for most anchorages. One touch on the button lowers for a time, about half the chain and another touch lowers the rest. If necessary, a further 50 meters of rope can be deployed. A rail has been added above the guard wires aft of midships making passage from cockpit past the sprayhood to fore deck much safer.
An ‘Evolution’ autohelm with a hydraulic actuator has been installed replacing the wheel pilot which gives much superior course holding in most conditions likely to be uncounted.
The ‘Achilles Heel’ of the 36cws are the under deck turning blocks leading halyards from the centre power cockpit winch to the base of the mast. The original blocks were aluminium with small axels. On Noon Hi these blocks have been massively strengthened and now work extremely well with the result that, combined with a high-tech main halyard, the mainsail will normally fully fall when released without any help from the crew on deck.
Together the improvements listed make Noon Hi exceptionally convenient to sail short and single handed.
