Welcome aboard S/V "Shani", a three-cabin Catalina 42 cruising yacht ready for fun with family and friends both at the dock and on the water. "Shani" is a well-maintained Catalina three-cabin cruiser that has had many upgrades from 2013 to the present. Her popular layout with privacy doors on each cabin provides an ideal environment for accommodating people and gear on board.
The Catalina 42 has had one of the longest production runs in the sailing industry. For 22 years from 1989 through 2011, more than 1,000 boats were built between the Catalina 42 (1989-1995) and the MKII (1995-2011) version. "Shani" is built on a solid fiberglass hull and has a lead wing keel with 4-foot, 10-inch draft making her a fit for shallow AICW waters and cruising the Florida Keys.
Step aboard into the spacious cockpit. The Lewmar folding wheel makes moving around the helm easy. The open transom and swim platform are favorite features for swimming off the stern or boarding a dinghy.
Down below, the roomy salon has a nav station to port next to a large u-shaped dinette. The dining table sides fold down creating more space when the table is not being used. The guest head is to starboard next to the in-line galley. The galley features a double stainless steel sink, new refrigeration system, a gimbaled Seaward Princess three-burner stove with oven, a Danby microwave, and ample storage space.
The Owners Cabin is forward from the salon and features a double Pullman berth, two hanging lockers with cedar lining, drawer storage, and en-suite head with shower, vanity, sink, and marine head. Two guest cabins with double berths are aft of the salon. Large panels and smaller openings in both cabins provide total engine access.
