The Grand Banks 42 Motor Yacht is a traditional sundeck cruising yacht of uncommon beauty and elegance. It is a boat designed for people who wish to enjoy cruising. The semi-displacement hull offers the best of both worlds, economical and comfortable cruising around 11 knots (2000 RPMS), with the ability to achieve planing speed (14-15 knots between 2200 RPMS-2400 RPMS) with their twin 320-hp Caterpillar diesel engines. Top speed is 17 knots at WOT.
"Belle Vie" is a 2 stateroom, 2 head, galley-down version. She has a very desirable interior with an island queen berth in the aft master stateroom and a v-berth forward. Some of them will have what we call split aft cabin, which have a double to starboard and a twin to port, and so the island aft cabin is more desirable. Her elegant full-beam master stateroom also features hanging lockers, two ensuites, (the head is to port and the shower is to starboard), cavernous drawers under the bed, bedside cupboards, a bench with draws along the starboard wall and a mini office area to port. It’s just like having a luxurious office inside a five-star hotel.
The construction of the yacht is virtually bulletproof and has proven its pedigree over many years. Between 1986 and 2004 a little over 1500 Grand Banks 42s were built. "Belle Vie" is hull number 951.
"Belle Vie" has great bones and a lot of great features. This would be a perfect boat to explore the Great Loop or an economical and comfortable liveaboard cruiser.

Manufacturer Provided Description
The Grand Banks 42 Motoryacht has been decades in the making. The original Ken Smith design has been amended and updated with the practical input of her owners. The experience gained since the laying of the first GB 42 keel in 1966 is reflected in each one commissioned today.
Her practical layout, sturdy fiberglass construction, deep water design, and long range capability all add up to a complete cruising boat. The Grand Banks semi-displacement hull design, with a fine entry forward, hard chines aft, and a full keel has been proven on waters around the world. Twin Catapillar 320-hp diesel engines will deliver economy at hull speed and provide higher cruising speeds.
The exterior of the hull and deckhouse on the GB 42 is smooth gelcoated fiberglass. Teak decking is laid over the fiberglass on the main deck and flybridge. The bulwarks surrounding the wide main deck are capped with a sturdy teak safety rail providing safe movement from bow to stern for those on board.
