The Nonsuch 36 is a well built wishbone sailboat built for single-handed passage making almost anywhere. She has a comfortable 6'6" of headroom in her saloon and the interior is laden with teak joinery finished in a beautiful satin varnish. The upholstered settee is extremely comfortable due to cushions and removable a backrest filled with five inch thick foam. The upholstered quarter berth and forward berth have six inch foam padding. The full-molded and textured overhead liner has access panels to the deck hardware fastenings for easy maintenance. A strong teak grab rail overhead runs through the entire cabin. The berth faces and tops are molded and feature solid teak fiddles. Varnished cedar highlights the interior of the hull above the aft and forward berths and there is cedar strapping on all bookcases. All interior liners are finished in an antique white gel coat. The head compartment features a separate shower stall, and the full sized nav station is aft at the base of the companionway.
FORWARD CABIN: The double berth to port has a width of fifty-two inches and is six foot, six inches long. There are two large drawers under its aft end with a water tank and dry storage outboard. Overhead and outboard are two lockers and there is a shelf over the forward end of the berth. On the starboard side is a vanity counter with an oval shape stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water. Under the sink is a shelved locker. Aft of the sink is a vanity counter with two drawers and a locker beneath. Forward is a hanging locker with paneled door. Overhead is a fluorescent light, large opening translucent skylight hatch and two Dorade vents.
GALLEY: The galley is U-shaped and located to starboard. There is a large refrigerator w/engine-driven Sea Frost refrigeration, Double S/S sinks with H/C pressure water, a three-burner propane stove w/oven, a propane water heater, a Nighthawk propane sniffer and excellent storage in the many drawers & cabinets.
HEAD: The head has a manual marine toilet, stainless steel sink set into a large counter top, with storage below and behind the toilet. There is a separate large shower stall.
Deck and Hull
All deck and work areas are white molded non-skid. The deck is made of single-piece molded fiberglass construction, balsa cored in all horizontal-areas for rigidity and locally reinforced in high stress areas. The deck has full-length molded bulkheads with an anodized aluminum, oval toe-rail cap extrusion, which the hull and deck through-bolts are fastened. There are forward, mid-ship, and aft aluminum mooring chocks, each leading to its own mooring cleat. Vinyl coated 7 x 19 stainless steel upper and lower lifelines with gates and braces lead through stainless steel stanchions the bases are through bolted to the deck for added safety and security. The double bow rail and stern pulpits are constructed from stainless steel. The stern rail includes an integral fold-down boarding and swim ladder with teak treads. The mast collar casting is mechanically fastened to a heavily reinforced and substantial hull-deck structure. Teak handrails along the cabin top and a teak nosing strips running around the circumference of the cabin and cockpit coaming chine add a level of class and safety. There are four large recessed side deck scuppers with molded scupper drains.
