The Kelt 850 is a great family coastal cruising yacht, this example has excellent equipment included and has been well maintained including new standing and running rigging in 2017, new batteries in 2017. Lifting keel was sandblasted and to bare metal and re-epoxyed in 2017 This particular yacht benefits from the lifting keel which is great for the East Coast. The Kelt 8.50 is a complete "Tardis" She is roomy, beamy and very well laid out below. She was designed by Patrick Roseo who took advantage of the high-volume hull. She is open plan layout with a U-Shaped partial bulkhead separating the raised forward double bunk from the main living area. This provides a comfortable and spacious seating area around 3-sides of the saloon.
The keel case is mostly hidden by a wooden double-leaved folding table. Thanks to the short coachroof and flush foredeck, headroom forward of the galley is over 5', but there is 6' plus headroom in the galley and heads. The double aft cabin is large and roomy. She has lots of natural light is provided from the three opening portholes.
There is a large hanging locker as you enter and excellent below bunk stowage. Stowage throughout the boat is good due to the lack of interior hull mouldings taking up valuable space. Ergonomic galley area with gas-fuelled oven with burners, stainless steel sink, work surfaces and a coolbox Large heads compartment with wash hand basin and sea toilet. The interior is attractively finished in wood panelling with comfortable cushions throughout.
Spars and Sails
Fractional sloop rig. Silver anodised aluminium keel stepped mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging new 2017. Terylene running rigging new 2017.Single line slab reefing to mainsail with lazyjacks and zipped cover new in 2018. Plastimo headsail furling system. Spinlock jammers. Rigging last tuned 2019 by Medway Slings.

Located under the companionway stairs is a Yanmar 2GM20 18HP diesel with raw water cooled diesel engine. It was last serviced in winter of 2018 by Sampson Marine. Engine mounts were replaced in 2018, new diesel pump fitted in 2017, Gearbox was re-built and refurbished in winter 2018 500 Litre fuel tank. It has a shaft drive to a 2 blade folding bronze prop. Cutlass bearing was changed in March 2019.
Two 12v batteries in two banks, 1 x domestic and 1 x engine charging via engine alternator and mains battery charger via 240V shore power system. Batteries were new in 2017/18. Galvanic isolator fitted March 2019
