37.5‘ Beneteau 375, 1985 s/v Pantera
Designed by naval Architect Jean Berret, the First 375 was based on race prototypes entered by BENETEAU in the Admiral’s Cup, One Ton cup, etc. Known for its exceptional performance and seaworthiness, the 375 followed in the BENETEAU FIRST line of racer/cruisers after the 38, with a better comfort rating of 24.48 and lower capsize screening formula of 1.98. This is a very good looking, good sailing fin keel spade rudder design. With lower freeboard, impressive double-spreader rig, and large cockpit. Pantera looks like a serious sailing machine, not a dockside condo. Built with the speed and performance to race, and outstanding seaworthiness, she has the accommodations and space of a cruiser. Many of these boats have cruised Alaska, both US Coasts, and may be found cruising in Mexico, or the Mediterranean.
Pantera's 2-cabin owners version sleeps 6 and features a large V berth forward with storage, hanging lockers and an opening over-head hatch. The main salon seats six with fold-out table, and two long settees on either side. The forward facing U-shaped galley features a two burner gimbaled propane stove w/oven, ice box w/ freezer, double sink w/ hot and cold pressure water and foot pump. The navigation station sits opposite the galley w/ full size chart table w/storage under, VHF and electrical panel and controls and wet locker/storage aft. The head (rebuilt Nov 2017) is starboard aft of the NAV station, w/ hot and cold pressure water and shower. The second cabin is aft to port with an athwartship berth, hanging locker and small seating spot. The smooth Volvo is boxed at the companionway with good side and aft access.
With comfortable interior accommodations, plenty of light, elbow room, and good storage Pantera is a strong fast boat you will want to check out soon. They don't make boats like this anymore - you will be proud and delighted to sail her!
Note: While many of West Yachts are in Anacortes, this listing is at Shilshole in Seattle. Please call for an appointment to see Pantera soon.
