Tahitienne is a perfect example of what Hinckley is best known for: beautiful design and exquisite workmanship. With about $700,000 spent on her since 2011 preparing for offshore racing (such as the Coastal Cup or Transpac) or cruising, she's the best equipped Hinckley on the market today and shows bristol--maintained by Hinckley until trucked to California in late 2008 and professionally maintained since, she was featured on the cover of Sail magazine--and is competitively priced given fact that current owner has the better part of $1 million in the boat, change of plans necessitates sale.

Some highlights: All new North and Quantum sails (and a FULL suite of 'em, see FULL SPECS) and extensive rigging work, almost totally rewired and replumbed, new electronics (all the electronics, and many other systems, have redundant backups, see below), a great many custom cosmetic touches, electric winches, low hours on Westerbeke diesel that has been totally gone thru and now has Racors, Floscans and a Fyreboy, new Fischer Panda genset, lovely white hull that was Awlgripped in 2005, flawless varnished mahogany interior with upholstery redone in tasteful dark blue leather, just hauled and bottom painted in January 2018,  etc etc etc.

The bottom line is that EVERY SINGLE SYSTEM on board has been gone thru and upgraded, improved or repaired as necessary, and that's not even to mention the masterfully installed carbon fiber watertight bulkhead forward...

Some of the top sailing experts in the world have worked on this boat--master rigger Scott Easom, rigger for Roy Disney's Transpac winner Pyewacket custom designed the rigging, and noted marine architect Alan Andrews modeled the boat's performance and designed the sail plan that was executed by North and Quantum. Nothing but the best went into this boat both in terms of equipment and the craftsmen and technians who installed it; Every aspect of Tahitienne was reviewed and optimized for performance and safety in the offshore racing/cruising environment, and she's now probably the best equipped Sou'wester in existence.

Note she has extensive offshore safety features that meet or exceed the requirements for ORC Category I racing. Most systems on the boat are fully redundant--a dedicated backup power system for communications located above the waterline, a fire suppression system with automatic engine shutdown, a general alarm and the custom crash bulkhead noted above that seals the bow compartment in the event of a collision. Additional safety features include five bilge pumps including a high capacity crash pump, a six person offshore life raft, three EPIRBs, two satellite communication systems, two VHFs on separate batteries, locking mechanisms on most opening compartments and numerous handholds and retaining straps throughout the boat.

Also note that she's lying in a potentially transferable Sausalito Yacht Harbor slip; there's a very long wait to get into the marina here so this is a material benefit if you're able to take advantage.

Vessel shown by appointment, please.
