An excellent family yacht, Sara is a classic 40 ft high-performance cruiser/racer from the world renowned C&C yachts. For those who love to race, she was heavily campaigned along the East Coast by the previous owner.
AccommodationsThe salon features a centerline table with leaves that fold up for ease of moving about the cabin. Long settees on both sides are flanked by pilot berths. Immediately aft is a U-shaped galley with plenty of storage for food and utensils, a large icebox, and a gimbaled three-burner stove with oven. To port is a large, comfortable navigation station separated by a partial bulkhead from a quarter berth large enough for two. She sleeps six comfortably in the three cabins. She has pressurized hot/cold water with a recent new pump and a Hill Range 3-burner propane stove with oven. Flat screen and antenna included. New head conversion from manual raw water to electric fresh water. Port and starboard windows were replaced new and rebedded. Three large deck hatches and good lighting from fixtures make the interior brighter than most boats with teak interiors. Three fresh water tanks totaling 100 gallons make long-term cruising a breeze.
Engine and Equipment
The vessel represents incredible value due to a very low mileage Yanmar 39 HP re-power in 2015 with new transmission and a dripless shaft seal on a new SS shaft with the addition of a 3-blade folding prop - cost was $26,746. Three fuel tanks with a total capacity of 45 gallons. New 16,000 BTU Dometic air conditioner/heater was added in 2019. Excellent Garmin 545S GPS (with fish finder). Xantrex Link 1000 battery management system. VHF with cockpit remote mike, and five high quality deep-cycle batteries.
Deck and Sails
Starbright canvas dodger and bimini (with viewing window). Doyle stackpack and foam luff for the genoa all new in 2006. All weather cockpit cushions. Custom stainless steel centerboard tube and dynema centerboard cable which allows a draft of only 4' 9". Eleven deck and cockpit winches. Fully battened performance mainsail in a stackpack by Doyle. Roller furling Harken MKII 135 genoa. 3/4-oz spinnaker with pole. 100-sq ft storm jib. Seven sails total and the staysail is brand new. All hatches come with Overland heat-reducing hatch covers. A new Lofrans 1500 W anchor windlass does the heavy duty anchor hauling with remote control. CQR primary anchor with chain and rode. Pole holders are installed. SS davits were installed 2020.
All instrument/equipment manuals are organized and bound. Altogether this yacht is a powerful, strong and safe blue-water yacht. We value your time. Call to schedule an appointment to see her today!
