A quick walk though below shows a pretty standard layout with some unique features. Down the companionway, immediately to port is the small galley and to stbd is the quarter berth and nav station. Two settees in the salon are great for relaxing and, when the dinette is lowered, there is easy seating for 4-6 for dining.
Next forward and spanning the while beam is the large head/shower and way to the V-berth. Currently the V-berth is storage for the sail compliment.
Also the port settee can be opened up to a full berth and the stbd settee is adequate for a single.
The whole interior has lots of cubbies, closets and other storage places.
The galley is small but functional with a sink just below the companionway with hot and cold water. And a small (new) 2 burner propane stove that still needs to a propane bottle and connections. There is also a large ice box (without 12V refrigeration) for your provisions.
The engine is a reliable Yamnar 3GM 20F 17 hp diesel with decent access under the companionway, through the quarter berth and the large port side lazerette, Current hours on the Hobbs meter show just over 1100.
Power is provided from 2 x Group 27 12V batteries that are maintained charged via the engine alternator or a 20 A battery charger when at the dock. A single 30A connection and cord are provided for the shore power.
The sail inventory includes the mainsail with 2 reef points, the currently installed 155% genoa on the furling forestay. Below is a 125% and a 135% genoa and a full symmetrical spinnaker. All sails are about 10 years old.
The rig replaced in 1997 and was inspected about 2 years ago when a couple of the shrouds were again replaced. New spare shrouds are onboard for future use if necessary.
To allow for the spinnaker is a full pole stored on deck. And the back stay has an pulley system to adjust the back stay tension.
As for line controls there are:
- 2 x Lewmar 8 1 speed winches on the mast
- 2 x Lewmar 6 1 speed winches on the coach roof
- 2 x Lewmar 40 2 speed winches for the spinnaker sheets
- 2 x Lewmar 42 2 speed winches for the genoa sheets
-The electronics are made up of a suite of Raymarine ST60 instruments with separate depth/wind and speed displays. Currently they all work except the wind transducer feed to the display. The original ST-4000 auto-pilot is not there but the Raymarine Smart Pilot control and wiring is still in place.
The owner has a new uninstalled Garmon 740S plotter/GPS that is included.
At the nav station is a Standard Horizon Titan + VHF and a new Standard Horizon handheld VHF for use in the cockpit.
A Horizon MST660 stereo is also installed with speakers around.
For a 33 ft sailboat the cockpit is large enough to be comfortable as the captain and for your guests. There are very plush cushions around. A swim ladder is on the transom. And a bimini and dodger are available for shade or weather. (Currently the dodger needs to be repaired or replaced but the bows are there.)
The ground tackle is comprised of tow Danforth style anchors and stored in the salon until needed. The chain and rope rode is stored in the forward chain locker.
As with all boat this age there are concerns about the quality of the deck. Via Col Vento has only one soft spot above the chain locker in the bow. It is not in a functional area or a walking area.
