This William Tripp design as seen on the Hinkley Bermuda 40, and Columbia 39, 50 , and 57 models as well, places his Mercer 44 in the top tear of serious Blue Water performance cruisers. Built by Cape Cod Ship Building, in MA, the full keel with center board gives these boats a very "sea kindly" motion and with board down extremely good "windward" performance. Yet with board up, shallow enough for the Bahama Banks and the Gulf Coast bayous. Synia is a two time class winner of the Antigua race, so you know there is serious sailing performance. It features a recently rebuilt 6kw generator, air conditioning, propane stove/oven, 50 hp Westerbeke diesel and a beautiful mahogany and teak interior, with teak and holly sole.
If you are saying you need to "get away", you can sail away on Synia and look classy doing it.
