Listing : Construction

Steel Sailboat, Orca, built in 1977 by the shipyard Millet (Lorient/France), designer : Van de Stadt.
The boat was launched for the first time in 1982. She is build in a very high quality steel “Nuance” E24I, extremely resistant to corrosion, used for train rail track, so it rusts on the surface, but does not goes deeper….
Her first owner keeps her 10 years (1982 to 1992). She arrived in Polynesia in 1991 and underwent a cyclone, she is repaired by the shipyard Marinalu in Raiatea.
The previous owner bought her in 1992 and regulerly sails.
The current owner bought her in 2013, sailed all over FP then up to Marshall islands via Cook islands, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Tuvalu and Kiribaties. They're living aboard in Marshall Islands. They continue to do daily normal maintenances. She is ready for a long crossing up to New Caledonia, or anywhere the new owner would like to sail her.
The entire boat was treated with a “methagrip” cold sink treatment. It is great except that paint doesn't stick to it below the waterline. Therefore the boat needs a new bottom paint. I am planning to do it in Fiji if she is not sold by then. I recommend to sandblast the surface and do a regular epoxy treatment.
