With almost 800 launched, the Islander 36 has proven one of the most popular 36' sailboats ever built, and remains one of the most active one-design fleets on the Bay. With the deep keel option (which this vessel has), skeg hung rudder and keel-stepped mast, the I-36 is a stiff boat that handles the typical Bay summer winds with aplomb while also doing well in light airs.
And not surprisingly with her comfortable cockpit and spacious interior, the design is also well-suited for cruising and you regularly see them heading to Mexico and points South as part of the Baja Ha-Ha fleet. For more comments and insight on this U.S.-built classic, do a Google search for "Islander 36", then link to the I-36 Owner's Association.
This particular example has only had two owners since new and is in nice shape with a Perkins 4-108 diesel (not the pesky Pathfinder found on many Islander 36s of this vintage!), the sails are in good shape, the boat has a radar and and an autopilot, a dodger, roller furler and refrigeration AND is real competitively priced--all in all a nice package!
