The schooner APPLEDORE was designed by D.C. “Bud” McIntosh and built in 1974 in Portsmouth NH by Herb and Doris Smith. She is the first in the series of five APPLEDORE schooners designed by Bud and built by Herb, and the subject of Herb’s first book “Sailing Three Oceans” about her building, voyaging, and later circumnavigations in APPLEDORE II & III.

APPLEDORE's current owner has owned her for 32 years and has maintained her in excellent condition.  She is in the water, fully commissioned, and in turn-key condition for her next chapter. Sleeps 8, easily handled by a couple, and perfectly suited as family live-aboard, blue-water cruiser, or charter boat.   Winner of both the Gloucester Schooner Race and Maine Windjammer Race.
