The Secondary Engine is a Isuzu diesel engine that is coupled to a hydraulic pump so it can provide get home engine duty.
In 2010 the vessel was purchased by a Senior Naval Officer and had its super structure replaced, engines rebuilt and all new electronics and all updated cabins and a bulbous bow was also added. He undertook the project to turn this into a world class Long Range Cruiser. This expedition style of yacht has a rugged feel and she is built from a steel hull that is still in great condition.
Thomas Crosby V is one of five steel ships built by Star Shipyards. She has been proven with 30 years of service.
Originally, she was built for the United Church of Canada in a series of five to serve communities from 1967 to 2003 along the coast of British Columbia. They provided medical services and services to the light houses along the coast of Canada.
