Without doubt one of the most beautiful boats afloat today in the Pacific Northwest, turning heads at every port and meticulously maintained by her perfectionist owner, "Querencia" is now being offered at a substantial reduction, reflecting the owner's desire to move on to a different stage in life.

The owner will consider all reasonable offers, as well as trades for real-estate or a classic car.

Don't miss this opportunity to become the next proud owner of a very special vessel from the drawing board of one of America's most revered designers.

*****

A stunning example of this legendary design, "Querencia" is a sister-ship to the famed "Finisterre", three-time winner of the Bermuda to Newport race.   From the drafting board of Sparkman & Stephens Design # 1054, "Querencia" was built at the Wing-on-Shing boatyard in Hong Kong in 1960 and underwent an 18 month restoration from the keel up in 2002.

The 2002 refit was completed by the current owner, a knowledgeable yachtsman, using a hand-picked team of local craftsmen lead by professional shipwright Ed Lamberson and included: new teak decks, toe rails, skylight and cockpit coamings; a new housetop of Yellow Cedar and canvas over Mahogany beams; stripping of the hull to bare wood inside and out; refinishing of the hull; a gold leaf cove stripe; reconfiguration of the existing cabinetry and complementing of the same with new Yellow Cedar countertops and ceilings;  a complete up to date Raymarine electronics system was installed and includes radar, chart plotter, AIS, sonar, Sirius weather, autopilot, EPIRB and VHF;  new sails, sail cover and bimini from Schauttauer Sails, Inc. of Seattle; a 40 horsepower Yanmar diesel engine was installed; custom designed, stained glass panels from Mesolini Glass Studio of Bainbridge Island for the galley and companionway;  leather seat cushions for the main salon;  ultra suede mattress covers;  cabin lights and hardware imported from England.  Her hull is constructed of 1-1/8" teak planks over Yakel frames fastened in bronze with Abitong deadwood. Her floor grid, centerboard, centerboard trunk, and the mast step are bronze.  Spars are Sitka Spruce; new pin rails are teak.

Throughout this extensive refit,  every effort was made to maintain the integrity of "Querencia's" traditional pedigree.  In 2004 she was re-christened and launched in Port Townsend, Washington.

Since her restoration, "Querencia" has been lovingly and meticulously maintained while being regularly sailed; competing in nine Swiftsure regattas and wooden boat festivals.  She has been Best in Show twice at the Victoria B.C. wooden boat festival.

"Querencia" is a sublime blend of form and function, maintained in Bristol condition and a rare gem in today's marketplace.
