God's Pocket is a Luders L-16 designed by Alfred E. (Bill) Luders and built in the late 1940s after the Second World War. Her waterline length is 16 feet, while her overall length is 26 feet, so with 10 feet of overhang fore and aft and her tall rig, she is very attractive. She is a popular boat to sail and race, both in light air and in a good breeze.  She seats 6 in her spacious cockpit.  God's Pocket is named for the title of a book by Rachel Field, who summered on an island off Mount Desert Island. She is one of the original 8 sloops that arrived here in 1947.  Her current owner has sailed and maintained her for 28 years and currently sails a larger cruising boat.  If you are in the market for a beautiful classic sloop that has been well cared for, she may be the boat for you!
