Tortuga, a classic 1936 raised-deck cruiser, has been extensively upgraded and rebuilt by her current owner since 2007. She was originally built by the Nunes Brothers Boat and Ways Co. in Sausalito, California, sailed many years in San Francisco Bay, and in 2002 she was transported to Maine. She is a gentle coastal yacht that has been meticulously cared for. Below is a galley, two berths, an enclosed head, and above is 360 degrees of visibility in her upper cabin. With her 2011 Volvo Penta diesel, she glides through coastal waters in style! If you are in the market for a distinctive piece of American history on the water, she may be the boat for you.

Eighty-five years ago Tortuga was built in Sausalito, California on San Francisco Bay. The boat stayed there until 2002, when the owner previous to the current owner bought her and shipped her to Maine. Her current owner purchased her in 2007 and from that time to the present, he has diligently brought her up to her good health by replacing/rebuilding her oak frames, part of the forward keel, installing planks when needed, caulking the entire hull, repowering from gas to diesel, and rebuilding her wheelhouse along with the decks. He knows her systems thoroughly and does her paint and varnish annually. She truly is an American classic who found a good owner.
