52' Beneteau Swift Trawler 52
Beneteau designed the “Swift Trawler” (ST52) to fulfill a niche in the market between slow, long range Trawlers and high speed gas guzzling 30 knot motor yachts. The resulting design is truly the perfect mid-range coastal cruiser which has a beautiful “shippy” look to her, yet handles better than most of her competition. The ST52 has taken the best of both worlds and can compete with trawlers for stability and fuel consumption at 8-10 knots or faster plaining hull vessels at 20 knots. She has a high freeboard, Portuguese pilot house and high stern which provides safety in high seas. The boat is designed with a centerline keel and the props are tucked up in pockets that affords some protection from debris which is extremely necessary cruising the Pacific North West.
The ST52 is a semi-displacement hull, and with her fine entry bow, hard chines she gets up on the plain effortlessly being powered by twin Cummins 600hp engines. She cruises quite happily between 15-20 knots with a WOT of 24.7 knots. The Swift Trawler 52 is extremely easy for a couple to handle: from a docking perspective with her excellent visibility from the pilot house or flybridge and for extra assistance, there are cameras mounted. In the pilothouse, throttles and thrusters are strategically place to the starboard side of the wheel, closest to the door, for easy access while standing partially out the side door looking down the length of the vessel.
“Constance” is a single owner vessel and has been professionally maintained to perfection. She is kept in a boat house every winter and is only used during the summers for local cruising. This vessel looks better than the day she was commissioned. With her 3 cabin layout, she boasts a beautiful amidships, full beam stateroom and with the signature oval large portlights, the cabin is filled with natural light and the views are spectacular when lying in bed.
