Today, we are proud of the fact that every Viking Sport Cruisers model produced meets the demanding criteria required for United States National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) yacht certification. To achieve NMMA certification, each Viking Sport Cruisers undergoes a stringent inspection of some of the yacht’s most critical systems, such as electrical, fuel, mechanical, and safety systems. Each model must also comply with United States Coast Guard regulations and meet construction standards set forth by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC). While many European yachts are built to meet various European standards, this does not equate to compliance with the critical requirements established by the NMMA for yachts built for use in the United States.

Featured Boat 85' Viking Sport Cruisers Express Motor Yacht 2009 Like all yachts in the Viking Sport Cruisers V series, the V85’s hull is slightly deeper in its V shape than the motor yacht range, boasting 21 degrees of deadrise at the transom for optimum speed and razor sharp handling. While technically the V85 is considered an express yacht, at first glance there is an important distinction from typical express yachts in this size range. Unique to this class of yacht in this size, a small flybridge sits atop the hardtop of the V85 just aft of the electro-hydraulic opening sunroof over the salon. Cleverly designed so as not to be a prominent feature in the overall profile, this convenient arrangement features a comfortable seating area and centerline helm with terrific visibility that is ideal when docking or running in tight quarters. On the main deck, tender storage is made convenient by means of the large garage with built-in winch and roller system for ease of launching and retrieving. Dual integrated transom stairways lead to the expansive aft deck with its comfortable U-shaped dining area and built-in, fully equipped bar area. The gleaming stainless steel-framed salon door opens wide to join the aft deck with the main salon area. Here, seating is arranged for both conversation and ease of viewing the entertainment center. A large dinette forward lies adjacent to the helm to take advantage of the panoramic views over the bow, while a bar area is centrally located aft of the helm and features a built-in refrigerator as well as dedicated bottle and glass stowage. At the touch of a button, the large retractable hardtop slides back to let the fresh air in while tinted skylights provide plenty of natural light from above when the top is in the closed position. In addition to the aft deck and salon entertaining areas, a spacious forward sun lounge provides a comfortable settee and sunpad for intimate conversation dockside or at anchor. Below, the galley is just steps away from the dinette and is flooded in natural light from the windshield on the main deck. Fully equipped for preparing anything from a light snack to a gourmet feast, the galley boasts storage and amenities to satisfy the most discriminating of chefs. The full beam master suite is located amidships for ultimate comfort and privacy and features a walk in dressing room, vanity and desk area, cozy dining niche for light snacks and casual conversation, and a large bathroom with stall shower and his and hers sinks. Twin guest staterooms each feature side by side single berths and boats ample storage space and private en suite bathrooms. Forward, the VIP suite is bathed in natural light courtesy of the large portlights. Guests in this stateroom will feel well cared for thanks to the abundant hanging lockers to port and starboard and the private en suite bathroom. A privately accessed crew area aft features two staterooms and a sizeable, well-equipped kitchenette.
