Around The Bay, Around The Islands
This past year I had a chance to spend some time with customers aboard their Bavaria 51 center cockpit, which they purchased with our help at The Yacht Shop.
Cruising with our clients is something that seems to be a growing trend for us here in St Maarten. Both Mike and I are easily persuaded to accept any offer to make our way to a distant beach. In my experience it is far less common, and even discouraged in the North American Broker/Client relationship. Of course some exceptions exist, (my friend Tim Ash at Tartan/C&C in St Petersburg, Florida is one). It seems the process of selling/buying a boat in the Caribbean creates an sense of duty to now close up the office and head over to St. Barts for the evening, and then around to Angullia for the rest of the week. I have always observed that any time you take a boat across the blue and dark blue waters of an ocean the human aging process will either stop all together, or rapidly increase depending on your sail trim. On this outing I think we came out a day younger.
