Profile of the 59' Symbol Classic under construction showing the Portuguese Bridge. For safety and comfort at sea, the Portuguese bridge is a very important feature. It is the area just forward of the pilothouse that is protected by a waist high bulkhead deflecting wind and seas providing a safer walkway around the exterior of the yacht. By deflecting the seas in heavy weather conditions, the side deck walkways stay relatively free of water.
