Just before the air temperature dropped to 32F in Maine, this Sabre 54 Flybridge had new owners onboard who pointed her south to Florida for the winter.
Equipped with a full suite of Garmin electronics and powered by Volvo's & IPS drives, this was a fast, solid and high manoeuvrable boat.
As with all Sabre's her interior was finished in American cherry with a hand rubbed finish.
Like her predecessor, the Sabre 52, the 54 cruises easily at 25-26 knots.

The Maine built Sabre 452 features a handcrafted interior that features two sleeping cabins, a chef's galley and a gorgeous main salon.
Her owners were only day sailing her locally and decided to let her go to a couple with dreams of blue water sailing.
Expect to see her sailing between Quebec City and Newfoundland over the coming summers.
Northern Bay DownEast 38 heads off to ME
The original owner of this DownEast 38 sold her to back to a resident of Maine, which is a traditional home of Northern Bay designs.
Originally spec'd for long distance cruising with generator, water maker and long range fuel reserves, "Bella" was most usually seen between Indian Point and Lunenburg doing day cruises.
Her new owners were pleased with the level of finish provided by the Tern Boatworks team.
We were pleased to co-broker with Yachting Solutions on this transaction.
AMEL 46 sails home to NS
The french built Amel brand is well known to European sailors and to long term cruising sailors generally. She is however a rare boat in our waters.
Her owners were focused on finding the right cruising boat for their needs and in August sailed this Amel 46 home.
In addition to her offshore designed cockpit, her interior spaces offer her new owners and guests the ability to cruise for extended periods.
Fountain 38LX goes west from NB to Michigan
This black hulled beauty is equipped with triple 175hp Mercurys.
Her breathtaking speed and handling are compliments of her strong race boat proven hull design.
In addition to her day friendly cockpit, her interior space offered her new owners a weekending retreat.
J/100 for Charlottetown
The latest in a long line of "Dog Party" boats arrived in Charlottetown in June.
She replaces a J/88 and prior to that a J/29 and will be racing her local sister ship "Babe".
Designed as a smart looking daysailer and an able club racer, the J/100 is a comfortable and easily handed 33' day sailor.
"Prime Time", a Regal 4060 headed north west from MD to Ontario.

She represents the owners second Hunter replacing their 386LE.
Finished in the teak below decks, she is fully equipped with gen & air/heat system.
She'll be cruising from the south shore to the Bras d'Or summer 2017.
SeaRay 400 from Boston to Chester
We just got this one home on her own bottom before the yards closed for the winter.
The SR400 was purchased through us as a brokerage listing of Marine Max in Boston.
We hired a professional captain to bring her home in early November.
She'll be cruising from Chester during the summer months.
Maxum 3700 SY to DYC from Cornerbrook, NL
This 3700 SY was a rare, hard to find express cruiser....equipped with diesel inboards for economically running.
Her owner moved her from Cornerbrook, NL during the summer of 2016 to enjoy a little cruising in NS and offer her for sale through our brokerage.
Her black hull will be seen cruising from DYC and along the south shore the summer of 2017.
Back Cove 30 heads back to Maine
"Fogbound" was trucked back to Maine in September for her new owners.
Finished in the typical, popular dark blue, her inventory included a host of features including stern thruster and air/heat.
2008 C&C 99
Having demo sailed 3 different C&C 99's in the early 2000's, we have a special attachment to these dual purpose sailboats.
Her original owners sold this lightly sailed C&C after almost 9 sailing seasons - a testament to how well they sail and how well they entertain their owners.
The new owners will cruise and race her from BBYC during the summer of 2017.
We've always been a big fan of Sabre products and the 54 represents a refinement of her earlier sister the 52.
Finished in the American cherry, electronics bu Garmin and IPS drives make the 54 easy to handle in tight spaces.
She replaces her owners 52 sold a month ago.
This 2007 Sabre 52 was cruised from Florida to Newfoundland and back to Maine by the owners.
In June 2016 she was purchased by a couple from California and she's being trucked across the USA to her new home in the Pacific.
The Sabre 52 offers a ride across ocean waves at 25knots that few other boats of her size can duplicate.
Headed Home to Maine
This 2013 Back Cove 30 was enjoyed by a Chester resident for three summers.
She is equipped with Raymarine radar, plotter, autopilot and VHF.
She is finished in the classic flag blue that has become almost a standard for Back Cove's being built.
Her new owners decided to have a skippered delivery home across the Gulf of Maine in May 2016.
Jeanneau 379 Coast to Coast
One of our sales for April involved a 2013 Jeanneau 379, with a big inventory and low hours.
Her buyers live in British Columbia and the sellers live in New Brunswick.
She was trucked across Canada to the Pacific in late April.
Rare Late Model J/105 comes to LYC
The J/105 is the classic sprit boat - fun for all ages.
Purchased in Toronto over the winter, this late production (2003) J/Boat (hull #606) looks near new.
"Mojo" replaces a 29' masthead racer for the owner and she's racing the waters of Mahone Bay the summer of 2016.
Island Packet 35 Heads to Texas
A couple calls from a retired Texas couple and a few emails later this IP35 had new owners.
The new owners came to New Brunswick to start their cruise in the spring of 2016 after "Wind Chime" was launched at RKYC.
She'll be cruising the eastern seaboard this summer.
Hunter 420 PEI to GA
We live in a global village - its more obvious with each passing day, especially in our business.
Her owners(aka the sellers) sailed their Hunter 420 from their home in Ontario to their retirement home in PEI...and then found her to be more boat than they wanted to sail locally.
The boat was listed with us in early November, before months end, a sailor from Georgia decided it would be his "cruise south" boat.
By mid December this 420 had a new owner.
PDQ 34 Power Cat
This PDQ 34 left Quebec City in late October heading from Georgian Bay, Ontario for her New Brunswick owners to join a charter fleet.
Her owners have a young family and busy schedules so they decide the best thing for them was to have a boat that would pay for itself while they weren't using it.
The PDQ 34 Power Cat is a rare and popular boat, although no longer in production, the PDQ range has a popular and loyal following.
The Unique J/95
"Serpentine" arrived from Long Island in September for a couple relocating to Mahone Bay.
Their requirements were unique; spirited day sailor, diesel inboard, 3'5' draft and fun!
The twin rudder, wheel steered, keel centreboard J/95 does all this and more!
With its carbon retractable sprit pole she'll be a great club race boat and will easily berth alongside the owner's dock at the lowest of tides.
2015 Jeanneau 53 to Hawaii
A long time client of ours went new boat shopping in the fall of 2014 and decided the Jeanneau 53 was the perfect boat for his lifestyle.
We had the boat built over the winter and when she was finished at the factory in late May 2015 she was sea freighted to California. He has initially planned to cruise Nova Scotia but mid build decided to take her to his mid Pacific home.
We arranged commissioning and the owner organized a crew for the 12 day delivery to Hawaii
By mid September "Kaimana" was berthed at Waikiki Yacht Club
An Alerion Express 33 Arrives in Chester
As Alerion dealers, we are always thrilled to help buyers find the "just right boat" for their needs.
Our owner requested a boat he could sail himself, a pretty boat designed with a classic look.
The flag blue AE33 can be seen moored near CYC some days but most days you'll find her mooring empty as her simplicity and sailing joy allow her owner to enjoy the sound of the wind and the waves.
Another Back Cove 37 Arrives in Chester
"November Rain" is a Stars & Stripes Blue finished BC37.
We built her with the 600hp Cummins engine, bow & stern thrusters along with the self levelling Letrotab system.
Her owners spec'd high quality touchscreen Garmin electronics and UltraLeather on the helm deck.
A custom touch includes a cockpit filler seat allowing for a gorgeous wraparound seat in the cockpit.
Swan 51 Heads South
Best known as an ocean going Cadillac, the Swan series is no stranger to offshore work.
Always a pleasure to work with Swan owners and buyers as they are "go anywhere" sailboats.
After multiple trans-Atlantic crossings and racing both to Bermuda and doing the Halifax race, this 51 is now headed "down island".
ANOTHER J/120 for the Local Fleet
"High Energy" a RNYC (St.John's, NL) based J/120 joins the local fleet and will be based from her homeport of Charlottetown, PEI.
She is the 7th J/120 in the local area offering her owners a great mix of racing and cruising in this highly dual purpose 40'er.
Her owners moved up after spending a few summers in a J/35 - great brand loyalty - demonstrating how much fun it is to sail a J!
San Diego J/88 Fleet Building
The J/88 has enjoyed phenomenal success and the west coast fleet in San Diego recently took delivery of our demo J/88, hull #19.
She was trucked west by Windward Marine Services from Chester (and frozen snow banks of a tough winter) to the sunny skies of San Diego in early April.
Her new owners will fleet and PHRF race her with a six sail Quantum Sail inventory.
Across the Pond in the UK
We have a lot of great clients; many of whom present unique challenges which is why we really enjoy every day at "work", its always different!
This month we were pleased to assist in the purchase of a Farr 56 from Swedish registry, lying in the UK, headed for cruising in the Med before returning to Canada.
The Farr 56 Pilothouse blends a number of great qualities into one form including having a centre cockpit and a pilothouse plus gorgeous below decks finish.
She'll be cruising Europe in 2015 and returning to NS in 2016.
From Germany, With Love
Our business is a truly global, 24/7 one - and one that is built one relationships, one client at a time.
We met the buyers of this C&C30Mk2 last summer when they were in Nova Scotia looking for land to buy once they retire from their careers in Germany. They were referred directly to us by a long term client.
This extremely well preserved C&C30Mk2 won the hearts of our buyers thanks to a fussy 18 year owner who's maintenance program has few equals.
In the spring we'll organize moving her and putting her in long term storage until our buyers return to NS in 2016.
Another J/120 Joins the Fleet
"Hull #177" arrives at RNSYS mid January...its true we work all year 'round!
There is no real "slow time" in the boat business, its all about time and timing for our clients and their needs.
The J/120 provides a great platform for sailors who want it all in a manageable 40'er.
Cruise or race, these timeless designs make it a perfect boat for local waters and international events.
HUNTER 33 - Off to St.Pete's!
The boat business is not just a local or regional business but more of a continental business.
Our demo Hunter 33 was purchased by a sailor in St.Pete's, Florida in early December.
She was the last of quite a mixed group of boats we exported this year into the USA - one went to Texas, two to California and a few into New England as well.
We are pleased that many brokers and individuals place their trust in us to deliver not only a boat, but the service required to ensure a smooth delivery and transition.
Back Cove 30 St.John's to Boston
"Islandger II" made her way from the eastern most point n North America this month to Boston on her own trailer.
While its rare for a Back Cove 30 to be offered with a trailer, the boat can be easily stored inside - a great option.
She is also equipped with a Cummins 350, inflatable, air, twin thrusters and more.
She'll be cruising the waters off Cape Cod to Marblehead in the 2015 summer months.
A Lunenburg Schooner Heads to Texas
"Ntloheleng" has been sailing around Nova Scotia for almost 20 years under her original owners.
This fall she was sold to a sailor in Texas and trucked south.
Built of pine on oak in 1994, this traditional rigged 42' schooner will be an interesting site for sailors in the Gulf of Mexico.
Hunter Owner's Rendezvous
Lunenburg Yacht Club hosted 17 Hunter sailboats in our first Rendezvous event in Atlantic Canada July 25-27.
With our sponsors including Seamasters, MCT Insurance, Steele Chev & Benoit Electric we had 53 happy sailors by the end of the event.
Seamasters held a liferaft launching seminar, we had a Bermuda start race and a pig roast plus great tunes on Saturday night. On Sunday morning we rafted into a sunflower for an overhead aerial shot.
Thanks to owners and sponsors and LYC for a great weekend!
J/70 OFF to FRANCE
One of our most recent J/70 sales was to an island off the south coast of Newfoundland - to the Yacht Club St.Pierre.
The club is a strong promoter of the sport and hosts a bi-annual ocean race form Halifax to SPM.
Hull #554 even got a cool graphics job before she left Halifax for YCSP.
ANOTHER J/88 Joins the Fleet
This one is called "Crazy Eights" and she'll join "Dog Party", "Playmate" & "Vendetta" to be our fourth of this fun, fast design in the area.
"Crazy Eights" is finished with a fast bottom compliments of Lunenburg Boatworks and North Sails.
Like all 88's she features a carbon Hall rig and sailor friendly deck layout by Alan Johnstone.
She'll homeport at CYC this summer.
A bright white Back Cove 34
We rarely see a white Back Cove of any size - ordered for a Chester owner this 34 proves the classic good looks of the design.
"Grand Cove" is fully outfitted with integrated Raymarine electronics and powered by a Cummins 480hp. She easily achieves her 30knots at WOT.
She is our first 34 in the Chester area.
ANOTHER J/111 CALIFORNIA BOUND
"Blast" (J/111-5) hit the road in April for her new home in California.
She spent her three summers racing out of RNSYS.
She'll join another (formerly local) J/111(#65) now called "Stampede" on the west coast.
J/88 ARRIVES in QUEBEC
"Vendetta", our second J/88 delivery will sailing the St.Lawrence River from YQC this summer.
Her crew has moved about from their Melges 24 for a bit more speed and comfort.
She is equipped with a Triad Trailer, Hall carbon rig & North Sails.
Back Cove 30 Headed for Chester
"Fogbound" as she will be called let the fresh water of Lake Ontario this month to join other Back Cove's in the Atlantic waters.
Finished in the typical, popular dark blue, she's coming east with a host of features including stern thruster and air/heat.
She'll be cruising from Chester during the summer months.
