Point Her Northeast! July 2008
Congrats to the owners of the 1996 Island Packet 40. The owners are sailing her home from Florida along the US east coast, then into Nova Scotia. From here, she'll continue northeast to her homeport of Fortune, Newfoundland. The IP40 will be cruising the coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador over the next few seasons.
Waiting for the Breeze... July 2008
Congrats to the owners of "Prospector" a brand new 2008 C&C 99, finishing a respectable 3rd in class in their first ever "race week". The owners moved up from their reliable C&C 25Mk1 last season and are now enjoying cruising and racing their new boat. The 99 has a standard carbon rig, epoxy hull, self tailing Harken winches and is equipped w/North Sails along with a fridge, propane stove and microwave below complementing the cherry interior plus an integrated Raymarine sailing/nav system on deck.
Why Not? Spring 2008
Congrats to the new owners of "Leeward Day" a brand new 2008 Back Cove 33, summering here in Chester. The owners decided it was time to treat themselves. They traded in their very reliable cape boat and are now enjoying their new boat. The 33 has a standard bow thruster and is equipped w/air/heat along with dual fridges, ultrasuede below complementing the cherry interior and a full Raymarine system on deck.
A Long Term Relationship 1998-2008
Over the years we've been lucky to have long term relationships with our clients. We work hard to maintain our friendships all over the continent, knowing that the boating lifestyle is a community that we also enjoy. For one such client we have been involved with over 250' of motoryacht deals in the past ten years. The most recent being the purchase of a 65' Marlow. No deal is too big or too small...we enjoy the challenge of finding the right boat for every family.
A Long Distance Deal Spring 2008
Congrats to the new owners of "Work Release" a 2006 C&C 99 we brokered for a Maryland seller. In this day of internet deals, we were contacted by the seller a few years ago on one of our demos. He decided to buy new at the time from the local dealer. But he had so much fun with us that when it came time to sell, he offered us the job. "Work Release" is travelling to central Canada on her new custom trailer. We enjoy the challenges of coordinating long distance deals...this deal was brokered in Nova Scotia with a seller in Maryland and a buyer in Quebec.
FROM HERE TO THERE OR THERE TO HERE!
Interesting deals of 2007 include: A purchase from Norway of the Viksund 33 A purchase from Australia of the North Atlantic 29 A purchase from California of a J133 A purchase of a Jefferson 57 in Florida A purchase from British Columbia of a J105
We enjoy the challenge of delivering yachts to new owners from all North America and the world. If you've seen something on our pages, that interests you...contact us...we'll see if we can make it yours! Or ask us to find you that perfect boat from away...we bring them in as well as ship them out!

Brilliance Wins Gold at Chester Race Week
Richard & Sharon Calder's J120 "Brilliance" finished a successful Chester Race Week by winning the Gold Fleet. The crew sailed a consistent regatta in weather that ranged from light, fluky winds with great sun to high winds combined with driving rain over the four day event. The Gold Fleet sailed two distance races and two windward leeward courses. Some of her competitors included a Swan 48-2 & 51, an Aerodyne 38, a J44. Brilliance was commissioned in the spring of 2001 and features a Hall carbon spar, North Sails and Raymarine electronics.
Another successful delivery! This Princess 35 is shown arriving in St.Pierre after a 4 day passage from Shediac, NB. As part of the sale process we provided translation services for the english seller and the french buyer. In addition,we sourced a delivery crew for the new owner.
Bellatrix 2007 Shown during Chester Race Week 2007 Over the winter of 06-07, this Swan 48-2 has received the full makeover including hull & rig repainting, deck detailing, mechanical inspections, new electric winches, new canvas, new sails, new electronics and new fabrics below. In short,we're working to make her into a new boat for her owners to enjoy.
Making Her Even Better!
Privateer, a Swan 48 will become Bellatrix by
spring 2007.Just as we've done for these owners before...using local talents to transform the white JGalt into the black Katana.Look for Bellatrix at her coming out race...the 2007 Marblehead to Halifax and she'll cruise until the 2007 Chester Race Week series.Next time you see her, she'll be flag blue!
Potential sellers and buyers ask us "Can you really sell/buy a boat that far away?" We had a Chester, NS based sailor who inherited a Westerly Pembroke 26' sailboat located in Rio Dulce, Guatemala. He sailed her for a month twice but decided she should be sold to someone to use her more often. In the spring of 2006 we listed her and by late summer we had an accepted offer. The buyer was from Minnesota! He's still enjoying her in the Rio Dulce after purchasing her in November, 2006.
Coast to Coast! Splashdown in the Pacific!
Our Freedom 39 Pilothouse left Chester early October 06 after sailing in the Atlantic waters surrounding Nova Scotia for over a decade. Before the month ended, she was splashed in the Pacific! "Spartan" now calls "The Dalles,OR" as her homeport.
Chester to Quebec City, July 2006
A great trip for the owner and his friends from Chester, NS along the coast and west into the St.Lawrence River to Quebec.
This Nauticat 32 was a desireable choice for short handed cruising with her twin steering stations.
We helped the owner with some additions including charts, an inflatable, a sock for his spinnaker and a new liferaft. Our local mobile rigger also updated some running rigging.
"Nereide" will be cruising from her homeport throughout the St.Lawrence in summers to come.
Spring 2005 in Chester, NS aboard the freshly refitted 2003 J145 KATANA. The owners have totally transformed her from a speedy cruiser into an ocean racer.
Her refit this winter included a full awlgrip job on hull & spars, new B&G 40/40's and additional 20/20's plus a full inventory of grand prix North 3DL's and Airex spinnakers.
She was the first Canadian yacht to finish this year's Marblehead to Halifax distance race, finishing 3rd in the IRC class and won the Sunnybrook Yachts Offshore Challenge Cup.
The very speedy J145 like many of her sisters offers luxury below and simple handling for both a couple who want to sail fast and owners who want to race offshore. This J145 will undergo a full transformation under the supervision of the Sunnybrook Yachts from offshore cruiser to offshore racer including new awlgrip, sails and electronics.
Sailing in her sixth season, is the J/160 "Excalibur".She's finished and WON her first Halifax to St.Pierre Ocean Race and also completed her third Newport to Bermuda Race...one of the slowest ever - but during Sunday's Gulfstream ride saw knotmeter speeds of 17.25 w/ GPS showing over 21knots SOG!In 2001 she won the PHRF Racing Division in the Marblehead to Halifax Race. She also was top Canadian yacht and member of both the winning Interclub & International Teams. She also competed in the light & foggy & cold 2003 Marblehead-Halifax race. In 2000, 2002 and 2004 she raced in the 630mile Newport-Bermuda Ocean Race.
"Excalibur" is a deep keel version of the J/160 design. She features a Carbon Hall rig, Quantum racing and cruising sails and Ockam/Simrad electronics.
Equipped by the owner for distance racing and cruising she features a Spectra watermaker and five 12v batteries.

A two-year trip collecting digital video for TheCruisingDVDs.com by the local Summers family from NS.
- They enjoyed a Fountaine Pajot 39 cat in year one and for year two a Beneteau 405 tri-cabin.
- The owners are from St. Margaret's Bay, NS, and in the second year sailed the Beneteau 405 as far south as St. Barts and St. Martin.
- The Beneteau 405 went to Annapolis MD for hurricane season in the summer of 2004, and was sold there by Sunnybrook.
- This was a family expedition, in which the two boys gained some life experiences, and all enjoyed having a chance to compare the speed, handling and roominess on the two different kinds of boats.
For 2003 - the Longest Trip west to east belongs to the owners of a Bayliner 4788.
Leaving Detriot early in May, travelling down the St.Lawrence River and home to Conception Bay South on the eastern corner of Newfoundland - all in under one month.
She features Cummins diesels, Raymarine electronics and much more.
On her way north in 2003!
Strawberry Roan II(ex-Quest) sailed her from Chester, Nova Scotia to Lewisporte, Newfoundland.
Her new owners purchased her for quick ocean cruising.
This C&C 41 has a complete racing inventory plus full cruising gear including furnace, battcars, furling, liferaft, dodger and more.
In 2001 she finished top 3 in her Division in the Marblehead to Halifax Race.
One of the longest cruises north this summer of 2002 was by the new owners of a Beneteau 42s7 "Monet" from St.Martin 3400nm north via the US eastern seaboard to St.Margaret's Bay, NS.
The Moores spent almost four months cruising home, being joined by friends and family along the way.
She'll be a familar site around SMSC in the summers to come.
Best post closing dinner for 2001 was aboard the Little Harbour 38 "Rosebud" involving a large pot of boiled Maine lobsters prior to her sail home to Halifax, NS.
One of the prettiest classics we now find gracing Halifax harbour, Rosebud has some wonderful updates.
The furling mast has the new Doyle "Swing-batten" mainsail and new furling genoa.
Belowdecks she's finished in white w/teak trim.
The 2001 J/120 "Brillance" sailed in her first regatta at Chester Race Week'01 and won one of the Premier races.
The striking thing about sailing a J/120 is how easy it is to sail fast.
On one of the first test sails with only a crew of five, "Brillance" acheived over 10 knots of speed with ease.
Built for quick getaways and occassional racing, look for "Brillance" gracing the waters from the Bras d'or Lakes to Mahone Bay.
This is how big a grin sailors get at 11 Knots under control on their new J/120's! We've seen a number of big grins locally!
Smiles start on the J/80's owner's faces, as well as the J/92's owner's, and there's the J/105 sailors, onto the J/120's, the J/130, the J/46 and J/160 - all these owner's have the same thing in common - a great big grin!
Longest cruise west during 2001 was by a Sabreline 43 "Sapphire" from Lunenburg,NS thru NY & up the Hudson River and then thru all four Great Lakes to Wisconsin.
Our new owner spent 14 days cruising w/our captain & crew - enjoying the trip of a lifetime.
Two local J/92's competing at Chester Race Week
To windward is "Poohsticks" purchased by her current owners in 1996 from North Carolina. The owners moved up from a Pearson 27 and purchased the J/92 as a "ten year boat".
To leeward is "Storm Front" purchased by her current owners in 2001 from Kentucky. These owners use the J/92 as a club racer when not sailing their J/160.
A lot of our clients like flag blue boats! This 2005 J133 replaces a series of mid forty footers for a client of ours who only day races. She's equipped w/a Hall carbon rig, Ockam instruments & UK Diamond Drive inventory.
This 2001 Hunter 460 arrived at Chester in July'02.
She is equipped to enjoy cruising w/furling sails, bow thruster, three showers and more.
Satin varnished tesk interior w/separate heads for each stateroom plus Raytheon electronics and full cockpit enclosure for complete comfort.
The ever popular Sabreline 47 - we've enjoyed being a part of the process of building and delivering these finely crafted, handsome and practical Sabrelines.New 47's are now available w/up to 1320hp(twin Yanmar 660's) - a rare trawler like cruiser w/get home quick speeds of 30 knots!
