Boats Sold by Swiftsure Yachts
In February of 2003, Swiftsure Yachts sold their first boat, MAGIC, a 2000 Hallberg Rassy 42. In the four years that followed, we have sold over 170 yachts (including an additional 26 Hallberg Rassys!). The boats we sell are not only those listed with Swiftsure Yachts. We also enjoy working as a buyer's broker in order to maximize the number of boats available to potential purchasers. In the process we have gained a great deal of satisfaction as we linked our customers up with boats that were well-suited to their needs.
Sold Swiftsure Yachts Listings
The boats shown below are representative of the high quality boats that have been listed and sold by Swiftsure Yachts.
ROSINANTE, a 1998 Hughes Perry Trimaran 63
ROSINANTE is definitely not a home-built trimaran thrown together in someones backyard. Rather she is the ultimate fast, shorthanded, safe, and comfortable cruising machine both professionally designed and constructed. Noted naval designers Kurt Hughes and Robert Perry together with leaders in the fiberglass and composite industry joined forces, and the end result of this collaboration was an incredibly strong and bulletproof yet light vessel with absolutely no shortcuts taken to save costs. When her owner was ready to move on to his next project, he turned to Swiftsure Yachts. ROSINANTE was a boat that needed a targeted marketing approach when she came onto the brokerage scene. As a result of our national advertising and understanding of her unique attributes, she caught the interest of Captain Rand Coon, owner of Trilogy Excursions who added her to his fleet of performance sailing vessels. Soon she will be plying the waters of Hawaii taking adventourous kite boarders in search of the perfect wind and wave.
ARTFUL DODGER, a 2001 Hallberg Rassy 39
Selling their much loved Dana 24 was not an easy step for the family that recently purchased the ARTFUL DODGER, our Hallberg Rassy 39 listing. They had crossed the Strait of Juan de Fuca with their newly arrived baby daughter, enjoyed cozy evenings at quiet anchorages and relied upon the well known sea-going capability of this stalwart Pacific Seacraft design. But their daughter was growing up and a little more space became desirable so they began a search which ultimately brought them to the HR39. With several weekend cruises under their keel, they are learning about the advantages of bow thruster, refrigeration and an extra 15 of vessel not to mention the added headroom and shower with hot and cold pressure water! And the interior accommodations are still quite cozy in the warmly appointed Hallberg Rassy
EMPATHY, a 1999 Hylas 49
The owner of the Hylas 49 EMPATHY returned to Seattle after voyaging in the Caribbean for several years. Ready to change gears and move to a condo in Mexico for the winter season, he looked to Swiftsure Yachts to sell his well equipped and carefully maintained yacht. The new owner visited Seattle, sailed the boat and then went back to Canada to consider his options. EMPATHY stayed at the top of his list, and he later returned and purchased the boat. After some training with the Swiftsure crew, he has left for a summer exploring the waters of the San Juan and Gulf Islands.
GOOD NEWS, a 1985 Contessa 32
Larry Hansen had a keen interest in Contessa sailboats long before he considered purchasing one. He knew their history: successfully doubling the Horn a number of times, traveling to both the Arctic and Antarctic, and the smallest boat to complete the disastrous 1979 Fastnet race. When GOOD NEWS came on the market, he was ready. An intrepid sailor, watermakers, roller furlers and complex boat systems were not his idea of the well found yacht. The Contessa's sweet shear, excellent stability and seakindly motion were his criteria for the boat that would take his family on journeys along the Inside Passage and perhaps later to some of the further points of the globe. The fact that its hard not to smile when sailing a Contessa (even in the rain on seatrial day), really cemented the deal.
YONI, a 1998 Riley Jespersen 50
YONI, designed by Robert Perry, was built by Jespersen Boat Builders in Sydney, BC. Offshore ready, she was marketed extensively through feature ads in Sail Magazine and individual brokers alerts to both national and international brokerage firms. YONI's conservative cutter rig with industrial strength Spartec spars, electrically powered Leisure Furl system and twin furlers for the jib and staysail provide an easily handled vessel for her new owner who hails from Alberta, Canada.
SCOOTS, a 1993 Able Apogee 50
SCOOTS was designed and built in 1993 for an experienced offshore sailor who was looking for a new boat; not only bigger, but better designed for long-distance, single-handed sailing. During SCOOTS two circumnavigation, she more than lived up to that objective. Recently purchased by a multi-boat owner who was ready to settle down when he found the perfect boat, she will soon slip the lines and boogie on out to the trades.
KATIE II, a 1980 Lidgard 37
KATIE II, was custom built in New Zealand by Tom Riedl from the Maple Bay Shipyard. Her new owners were looking for a boat that had the classic features of a wooden yacht with comfortable and capable sailing attributes... and, by the way, room for both their cello and violin to accompany them when voyaging. They saw KATIE II, at the 2005 Lake Union Boats Afloat Show and immediately recognized that her cold molded construction, spacious and warm Kauri interior and solid yet quick sailing characteristics more than met their expectations. Her new owners are enjoying winter sails in Puget Sound with plans to head further North this summer.
SEPTEMBER SONG, a 2000 Fleming 55
Yachting Magazine describes the accommodations aboard the Fleming 55 as A home away from home. Attention to detail raises the ante for this long range power cruiser. Stepping aboard SEPTEMBER SONG, one is immediately struck by the truth of this statement. Exquisite joinery, soft halogen lighting, warm teak and holly cabin sole do indeed combine to suggest the amenities of home. Fully equipped, she is ready to take her new owners in safety and comfort wherever they may wish to venture.
LIQUIDITY, a 1999 Hylas 49
LIQUIDITY is a lightly used one owner yacht, and an excellent choice for her new owner who was looking for a serious, performance cruising boat with comfort to spare. Her sweet sheer and elongated traditional lines are the unmistakable hallmark of legendary yacht designers Sparkman and Stephens. Her solid laminate hull, watertight bulkheads, deep and secure center cockpit and extensive equipment speak to her mission as a reliable offshore or coastal performer. Three double cabins and two heads will provide lots of space for friends and family.
AYU, a 1999 Hallberg Rassy 46
AYU is a well outfitted and maintained push button Hallberg Rassy 46. With every conceivable and sensible option available from the builder including a dual voltage (110/220V) electrical system, hard dodger, hydraulic main and genoa furling, bow thruster, genset, watermaker, electric winches, dual autopilots and complete electronics package, she will serve her new owner well during his offshore cruise. Her three stateroom layout and main salon with two easy chairs will ensure a comfortable time for this voyaging family both at sea and at anchor.
BJOSSA, a 2000 Hallberg Rassy 42
BJOSSA, a lightly used HR 42, features pushbutton sailing with hydraulic main and genoa furling, powered winches, bow thruster and genset. Her new owner, one of the PNWs top Star sailors will find that Hallberg Rassys notion that you dont need to be soaking wet from head to toe to enjoy sailing does indeed add a new dimension to sailing. Our client's previous boat, an O'Day 39, was taken in trade and was subsequently sold by Swiftsure Yachts.
PUFFIN, a 1978 Alden 44
The Alden 44 is considered one of the best cruiser/racers of all time, and PUFFIN is clearly a testament to that reputation. Her new owner was looking for a yacht that he, his wife and their two young children would enjoy on their home waters of San Francisco Bay for the next year or two. They are then heading to Alaska and the wonderful cruising grounds of the Inside Passage. The Swiftsure crew will be joining the new captain as he sails his boat from Seattle to San Francisco.
SEA WOLF, a 1994 Taswell 43
SEA WOLF is a an excellent example of the popular Ta Shing built Taswell 43. Her new owner was looking for a comfortable, well found vessel that was appropriately fitted out for Pacific Northwest cruising. Her radar and diesel forced air heating system are essential PNW attributes. Her warm varnished teak joinery, master stateroom with centerline, walk-around queen berth, large galley for a discriminating cook and pullman style berth for guests will keep her new owners comfortable at anchor as well as underway.
CAPAZ, a 1995 Perry 48
CAPAZ has two meanings in the Spanish language: capable and spacious. Robert Perrys design brief is an uncompromising reflection of these terms and resulted in a vessel of utmost strength capable of passage making in the most severe conditions. The dream of an extended voyage to Mexico and then on to the South Pacific was about to be realized when our client, a family of four that included two very active young boys, purchased CAPAZ the boat that would take them on that voyage.
TRINIDAD, a 1991 Andrews 56
TRINIDAD has a luxurious, spacious interior with the great performance you would expect from an Alan Andrews Design. Her new owner was looking for a boat to cruise in comfort and style while still getting there quickly. Fast on all points of sail and with lots of sleeping space, storage and tankage capacity, she was the perfect candidate. Renamed DELICATE BALANCE, she is now sailing on San Francisco Bay and along the Californian coast.
WIND'Os, a 1992 Hunter Passage 42
There are times when it all comes together for us as brokers and this photo of Stacy, Boyd and Lauren Wright on their newly commissioned boat was one of those moments. They purchased their Hunter Passage 42 sight unseen relying on the accuracy of our specification, the truthfulness of our sailing and interior/exterior photographs, the verification of both by their surveyor and our support in decommissioning and delivery. A good deal of trust by any measure. We appreciate that trust and wish them many enjoyable voyages on Greer's Ferry Lake in Arkansas.
