OUTBOUND YACHTS
The Outbound 44/46 and Outbound 52 Offshore Performance • Ultimate Safety • Exceptional Value
Experienced sailors know the added safety that comes with good sailing performance: the ability to sail off a lee shore, to fetch a safe harbor that is dead upwind or to complete a passage within the available weather window are key safety factors that should not be overlooked when selecting an offshore passage maker. The OUTBOUND 44/46 speaks to each of these requirements while also acknowledging the value of a comfortable environment in fighting fatigue when offshore and enjoying new surroundings in a far off anchorage.
In June 2006, Brad and Pete flew to Oakland and spent the day sailing aboard CHESAPEAKE, Jim Fair's new Outbound 46. Jim has raced extensively and completed a singlehanded Transpac. San Francisco Bay delivered in true form with twenty-five knot winds, steep seas, sun and fog - ideal conditions for test sailing a bluewater cruiser. Brad was aboard CHESAPEAKE and was absolutely blown away by how well the boat handled on all points of sail. Pete played photographer aboard a friend's Hallberg-Rassy 43 trying to keep pace with the Outbound. Over two hundred sailing and interior photos were taken. Please call or email for a photo CD of this boat under sail. Thanks to Jim Fair for spending the day with us.
