The network, and its reputation for high quality service, has been growing steadily throughout the 30-year life of the company. Specialists in the brokerage of pre owned Swan sailing yachts for over twenty years, Swan Yacht Charter, providing skippers for Swan Yachts and spares for Swan Yachts going back to 1967!
The United Kingdom, Ireland and Channel Islands Sales and Service is operated out of offices in Port Hamble by John Irving and Patrick Lilley. Both John and Patrick have a formidable yachting background. Tim Quinlan manages the brokerage of all pre-owned Swans. Rachael Ryan organizes yacht charters and manages the sales and service operations.

She is a maxi at heart yet the Swan 86 is very much a cruising Swan with the accommodation you expect. As a series production yacht she benefits from well proven design and a yacht building practice that is now almost legendary. This is a very special Swan to which many yachtsmen aspire. She is perfect for those longer distance cruises to the Pacific and beyond and also doubles as an excellent charter boat for those who like to recoup some of the running costs.
MAXTAR (ex HAMILTON) has been continually upgraded and is presented in quite superb condition with refits including the exterior in 1999, mechanical in 2000, topsides re-paint in 2002, interior in 2004 and a rigging re-fit and new sails in 2005.
In 1999 MAXTAR has completely re-faired and painted topsides, cockpits and coamings and new decks throughout including replacing the sub-deck with modern materials and techniques. In 2000 a complete engineering refit was carried out by SYS. This included new furling system, new Lewmar hydraulic pack, electrical system overhaul, new main generator, addition of night generator, rebuild of main engine, new air-conditioning throughout, new refrigeration compressors, new sole boards with sound insulation. In 2004 furnishings were renewed and headboards throughout the vessel were upgraded to the latest Swan styling. In May 2005 there has been extensive renewal of standing rigging as part of on going maintenance schedule.
The present owner has spared no expense in maintaining this Swan in quite excellent condition. With a serious eye for detail, he has carried out a continuous maintenance program including replacing the teak deck. The main areas of work include

· Modern toe rail design
· Bow thruster
· New main engine
· New main generator
· New night generator
· New saloon and master cabin upholstery
· Satellite TV received with separate aft deck support
· New set of televisions for most cabins
