Lead-Hand
Job Summary
The Lead-Hand is a multi-skilled technician. The responsibilities of the Lead-Hand are to organize, to co-ordinate, and to manage and control the time and quality of the work of the staff, whilst also carrying out the duties of the marine technician. He reports to the Service Manager. The Lead-Hand is to be aware of staff training needs, to advise and train others whenever possible, and to inform the service manager of the needs and requirements of the staff. In addition, his responsibilities are to ensure that the dock, service, and all working areas are well kept in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent supervisory skills
Self-motivated
Knowledge of safety procedures associated with products and staff performance
Good time management skills
A competent Marine Technician
A good working knowledge of all aspects of the pleasure boat construction and service industry
Credentials and Experience
A minimum of 5 years work experience in the pleasure boat industry as an installation technician is an asset.
Marine accreditation requirements are preferred
