Meet Our Team
I have now been in the business of yacht sales for over 27 years. I am serving now my second year as the current Chair of the Nationwide Certified Professional Yacht Broker Program (CPYB) and take very seriously the customer service, professionalism and ethics of our industry. Starting in this career in January of 1989 at the Sailboat Shop in Austin, Texas. Through The Sailboat Shop, I was fortunate to be able to offer turnkey industry solutions as a boat dealer, ships store manager while also running a full service department. This allowed me to learn much about all the many parts and working components of boats and the proper maintaining of them. I moved up to larger Yacht Sales in 1996 after moving to the Houston/Clear Lake Area and have been here ever since. I am living the dream in this industry of which I'm very passionate. Boating and helping other people fulfill their desire of being on the water and living the life!
Captain Robert Brush
Having been raised on Galveston Bay I was afforded the opportunity, at a very young age, to be exposed to and operate many different types of boats, from wooden skiffs with oars to various types of sailboats and power boats.
Years ago, I obtained my captains license and have made several crossings delivering boats for clients who wanted their boats relocated but were unable to do it themselves. Some of my fondest memories are journeys taken to from Kemah, Tx to the East Coast (Stuart) of Florida aboard a 65' power boat transiting through the Lake Okeechobee /Apalachicola Waterway highlighted by a life saving experience enroute and another of bringing a 40' sailboat from Road Town Tortola, British Virgin Islands to Kemah, Texas....but only after getting "It" bailed out from arrest.
I have found that talking with people about my experiences seems to help them find the right boat for their needs. Come by or call Sea Lake...we can discuss your boating needs, and let me help you make your floating dream a reality and you too can.....Live the Life!

My entire life has been centered on boating. My father first introduced me to water sports such as fishing and water skiing as we helped my uncle with his marine repair business on Lake Waco. After graduating high school, I set my course for the Navy. While serving my three tours, I fell in love with sailing, renting Catalinas in my spare time. I left my military days behind after Operation Desert Storm. As a civilian, I continued to sail away my weekends on Hunters and Compacs. My first sailing vessel was a 24 ft. Helm, then I moved up to a Cal 36. With this vessel I obtained my Captain’s License and offered sailing charters for the next 16 years to share my joy of the sea with others. During this time, I expanded the business to operating a 34 ft. Lafitte Skiff. Eventually, I decided to increase my license and enter the realm of the oilfield, operating crew vessels out of Port Aransas, Port O’Conner and then a diving vessel named the Odysea. At this time, I decided to increase my license to 200 ton Masters. This allowed me to move up to navigating off-shore supply vessels and lift boats. I received my ASA Certification in 2012, and I am excited about my new position as a Yacht Broker for Sea Lake Yachts, thus continuing to share my love of the water and boating.
Gary has been an avid boater for years, having owned his first boat in his teens. He owned ski boats for years, then purchased a go fast Mirage. In mid-2000 Gary and his wife Patty purchased a Well Craft 36’ Martinque and named it Cancun Girl. After several years they sold Cancun Girl and purchased a 40’ Mainship Motor Yacht in Florida, which they named Sol Mates. They brought it back to Kemah in 2009, where they spent many years on the water enjoying it. They purchased a 50 Viking Motor Yacht in 2014, which they now spend most of their weekends aboard.
Gary has always been involved in many activities and joined Waterford Yacht Club in 2007, served as Fleet Captain in 2010 and then as Commodore in 2014 and again in 2015.
Gary and Patty have recently joined Lakewood Yacht Club and plan on continuing to enjoy the water and the Yacht club activities.
Gary semi-retired in early 2000, but continues to stay involved in several businesses. After talking with Doug Hughes, who he has known for many years, he decided to join Sea Lake Yachts as a Broker. He is looking forward to working with friends and new clients offering many years of yachting experience to new and previous boat owners. If you are buying, selling or just looking to get involved in boating, give Gary a call.
