37' Pacific Seacraft Voyagemaker Cutter Rig
1995
US$ 235,000
"When setting out to design the Pacific Seacraft 37, I had the luxury of doing it for myself without obligation to builder or dealer. I did not have to pay homage to interiors festooned with bunks, or revered classic features, long waterlines, or short or distorted ends." WIB Crealock
This boat has recently enjoyed a rather comprehensive refurbishing and upgrading with most of the work occurring over the last fourteen months. This fact, combined with the boat’s history of regular care but only limited use, plus the extensive protective canvas, explains the boat’s unusually good condition and its well-preserved appearance. Details are included both in the photo gallery and in the text sections. Note that some of the new equipment installed over this past year was actually purchased a few years earlier; however, each item was carefully researched and highly-rated by Practical Sailor at the time of purchase. Equipment model numbers are provided for reference.
Sails and Rigging: Primary sails: original Ullman mainsail w/two reef points; original Ullman staysail; original Ullman 120% Yankee headsail. Within the past two years, the three primary sails were all professionally inspected and minor repairs made as needed; all three were professionally cleaned and have not been used since then. Additional sails (not used by current owner): Halsey Lidgard 135% Genoa, appears to have been lightly used and properly stored; Hild drifter, approx 460 square feet, looks with its sock and lines like brand new. Standing rigging appears to be in excellent shape and is assumed by owner to be original. The Harken MK II Unit 1 roller-furlers for headsail and staysail work well and were just serviced and lubricated this spring as per Harken recommendations. Furling lines were rerouted outside of stanchions using newly released Harken blocks (#7403) that keep side decks clear. All lines are new, having been purchased and installed in 2007 and never used. Halyards were made a little longer and routed down outside of new mainsail cover to the mast base and then back up to winches and cleats on mast under the sail cover to facilitate tying all lines away from mast to prevent slapping while avoiding distortion of the new sail cover.
Galley and Cabin: Adler Barbour 12V DC Cold Machine refrigeration works well and keeps ice frozen; Force 10 two burner propane range with propane in stern locker vented overboard and with remote solenoid control valve; double stainless steel sink with hot & cold fresh water pressurized by new Jabsco SensorMax VSD (#31750) variable speed pump; backup manual foot pump for fresh water; water tank #1 in bow under double berth, #2 under quarterberth. Due to rust on the stainless fasteners holding down the covers of both water tanks (and holding tank), all screws were recently removed and replaced with new 316 stainless screws and 316 countersunk washers, all re-bedded in silicon. Water heater (6 gallon 110V Atwood #MPD 93757) works well and is assumed to be original. Webasto (Air Top 3500) diesel central heat installed on previous owner’s watch, rewired with improved ducting and exhaust by current owner.
Electronics: At new helm: Raymarine Chartplotter & Radar display (RL70CRC Plus); Interphase Twinscope forward and downward-looking sonar with knotmeter and water temperature sensor; B&G Network PILOT display and DATA repeater display; Standard Horizon full-function remote corded handset for fixed VHF radio inside. At new instrument panel: Standard Horizon Spectrum+ (#GX2355S) VHF with NMEA connection to GPS for DSC distress function; WaterWitch Electronic Bilge Monitor (#BA200-B), electronic bilge switch (#230), additional high water alarm (#23-12); Acugauge Ultra-8 tank monitor system with installed and calibrated sensors for all 4 tanks (water 1 & 2, holding tank, diesel tank); Pioneer CD/MP3/WMA receiver (#DEH-P9400MP) max 50W x 4 channels for 4-8 ohm speakers. All the wiring harnesses for the electronic items mounted on instrument panel at the nav desk have been fitted with very solid multi-conductor plug disconnects to simplify removal of the instrument panel for adjustments or modification. The teak picture frame on the panel is 10” x 4.16” with 8” of open depth behind it and with factory molded-in copper grounding strap right there for easy installation of an ICOM IC-M802 SSB radio (or similar) if ever needed. Elsewhere: Raymarine Pathfinder 2Kw/18” radome (#M92650-S) on Questus backstay mount (#400G) with Raymarine Raystar 120 (Seatalk) GPS receiver; (inside nav desk) Pioneer XM satellite tuner (#GEX-P900XM) and auxiliary audio input for stereo; (in cabin) two Boston Acoustics (Voyager4) speakers; B&G Network system with SPEED, DEPTH, & WIND displays beside companionway and second DATA display on port cockpit coaming. The B&G masthead wind transducer was replaced 8/2008 with the newer version (#496) which is compatible with the current Network system as well as the newer B&G H-1000 system.
Electrical: (Most details are in the photo gallery.) Both shore power inlet plugs at stern are new Marinco stainless fixtures (so they match). New Marinco 12V DC outlet plugs are at stern near shore power inlets and on instrument panel with the new 10AWG circuit running up to new terminal block in medicine cabinet (for easy fitting of more 12V outlets in forward areas if desired). House and engine batteries are West Marine SeaVolt AGM’s purchased several years ago but just put into use last year (2 of #1231455, 200AH; 1 of #1231422, 105AH (photo gallery caption incorrectly states 90AH)).
Additional items & notes: Cruisair (#SX16) 16,000 BTU reverse cycle heat pump / AC in excellent condition at time of recent checkup and control panel replacement; new Xintex Fireboy carbon monoxide detector & alarm wired and mounted near v-berth; new inflatable Lifesling in very nice compact hard case -- onboard with mounting hardware waiting for new owner to decide where to mount it on stern rail (and where to drill the mounting holes in the case); new AquaSignal tricolor-anchor-strobe masthead fixture (#40806-07) with new “quicfits” mounting system installed on masthead 8/2008. The sun-dried wiring for the AquaSignal bow and stern fixtures was replaced last month and spliced (with waterproof Ancor butt connectors) into protected wiring inside of stainless rails. Additional items: 35lb Delta plow anchor and 33lb Bruce claw anchor; lightening ground system.
Located in Seattle at our docks Talos IV is easily shown and ready for your inspection.
