Scheepsmakelaardij Enkhuizen image Selling on-site, or from the sales harbour
We are your ideal point of contact for on-site sales (from our own moorings) or, for a select number of ships, for sales from our sales harbour in the heart of Enkhuizen.
The added benefit of this service is that the sale of your ship is a continuous process, carried out by a specialist certified ship broker. Our expertise and market knowledge significantly increase your chances of selling quickly and at a good price, and you are guaranteed of a smooth and pleasant transaction.

Promotion
After operating for numerous years as an independent company, Scheepsmakelaardij Enkhuizen became affiliated to the yacht and ship brokers section of Hiswa in spring 2002. This section, known as Qualified Yachtbrokers, consists of over 30 certified yacht and ship brokers, based all over the country. Although sales are conducted through our office, many more brokers are aware that you are selling your ship, and interested parties are informed accordingly. As well as the quarterly publication Yachtselect, with a circulation of 40,000, the section also maintains a website containing over 1,300 ships. We also advertise on a regular basis in the Telegraaf as well as a number of water sport magazines. Each year, we take part in big water sport exhibitions such as Natte- en Droge Hiswa, Boot Düsseldorf and Boot Holland.

Scheepsmakelaardij Enkhuizen also carries out its own promotional activities with a big monthly advert in the Spiegel der Zeilvaart [publication on Classic and historical ships], by participating in the Klassieke Schepenbeurs [Classic Ship Exhibition] and through classified ads in various magazines and newspapers. All ships are included on our own website, and, where suitable, a select number of ships are placed on specialist sites. And with each new arrival, documentation is mailed out to all database customers whose requirements match the ship's specifications.

Commission and costs
As the seller is engaged in the sales process, the commission rates are extremely favourable. The commission level depends on the sales price. No separate advertising or other costs are brought into account. If another broker is involved in the transaction, we will pay his expenses.

Inspections
With regard to the technical condition of your ship, we advise sellers to have their ship inspected prior to a sale. As a minimum, your ship must satisfy the criteria set by insurance companies and be free of substantial defects, unless expressly specified otherwise. The broker is present during the inspection to promote your interests.

Brokerage
In order to sell your ship, we require an order entitling us to offer your ship at the agreed price for the duration of the order. The order is not negotiable on either side. We will mail the documentation to our customers and incorporate the ship in our promotional campaign. The sale is carried out by us, in consultation with yourself. Should you find a buyer for your ship, we will offer you a commission discount. In that case, we will also be on hand to conclude the transaction. If the ship is not sold during the term of the order, no costs will be brought into account upon termination of the order.
