SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
1.1 Entry is open to all sailboats.
2 Rules
The rules of the road will govern this event.
3 Classes
Fast / race style boats with spinnakers
Cruising style boats and slower race style boats under 25 feet.
Dinghies
4 Starts
For the 1st start of the fast / race class:
At 1900 (7PM) a five minute warning will sound with a white flag, followed by a 4 minute warning with the blue shape on the committee boat raised. A one minute sound warning and the dropping of the blue shape and at the start a horn will sound with a red shape raised.
For the cruising class:
The start horn for the first class will be the 5 minute warning for the cruising class and the start sequence will continue as above.
Dinghies will follow as above.
5 Start / Finish Line
The start line will be between the YC V (Red CYC Committee Boat) and the North Mooring Buoy (Hamburger) located outside the North Entrance to Shilshole Bay Marina.
6 Courses
1) The start will be upwind
2) Marks of the course are to be left to your port.
3) In a northerly the course will be Start, Meadow Point Buoy, Ballard Blinker (entrance to the ship canal), sailing through the Start / Finish line and continuing on for another lap to the Finish.
4) In a southerly the course will be reversed with the Start, Ballard Blinker, Meadow Point Buoy, Start Finish line and another lap to the Finish.
The course may be shortened at the finish of the first lap if the breeze is dying
After sailing everyone is invited to the CYC Clubhouse for free Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, a no-host bar and nightly awards with a raffle.
