Buying and Selling - What Does it Take?
Buying and selling a boat can be a complicated and emotional procedure, that's why it's best to consider working through a broker. Here are the steps you will go thru when selling your boat.
| Listing the Boat |
The broker works up a listing agreement with the seller. Typically, the broker and the seller work together to determine the listing price, this is determined by an in depth market analysis of similar boats that have sold and are for sale in the market. Once the boat is prepared for showing an extensive inventory and equipment list is created along with photos of the boat. Once the information is created it is then posted on our web site for viewing. The boat information is also sent out to our affiliates for viewing. At this time we create an advertising program and create the ads for local, regional and national advertising. |

The broker shows the boat to qualified customers who are interested in the boat. |
| The Offer |
A potential buyer makes an offer on the boat, accompanied by a deposit for 10% of the offer. The broker then presents the offer to the Seller and deposits the check in a trust account. |
| Negotiations |
The Broker leads negotiations between the two parties, including the price and contingencies of the purchase, which typically include a survey by the buyer, a sea trial and a period of time to obtain financing (if necessary). |
| An Agreed Upon Offer |
With an agreed-upon offer, then the buyer sets forth on completing the contingencies. The broker helps schedule a survey, takes the buyer on a sea trail and facilitates financing (if needed). |
| SOLD! |
After the contingencies are met, then the buyer purchases the boat by transferring the balance to the broker. The Broker then draws up final statements and disburses the funds to the seller. Hooray! The boat is SOLD! |
