Norman Davant
A career sailmaker and one of the founding partners of the Quantum Sail Design Group, Norman's expertise lies in the technical elements of sailing. Norman actively races on the international sailing circuit as a pro trimmer/tactician/rig set up expert. He also is an expert in rig layout and set up for offshore cruising boats.
Whether racing your boat locally on the Bay, campaigning on the international Grand Prix circuit or embarking on an ocean crossing or world cruise, Norman has the experience and advice that will make your plans a success.
For the last year Norman has also worked for the Americas Cup Race Management as team liaison for the World Series events.
Norman's racing experience includes:
- Big Boat Series (including 14 overall wins)He is also the 1999 IRC National Champion having called tactics on the Custom RP 52 Vincitore in September of 09. Vincitore also defended her title in 2010 with Norman again as tactician.

Steve Taft Steve Taft brings to our team a wealth of experience including 18 years in the sail making business with North Sails along with 13 years as manager of Bay Marine Boatworks in Richmond Ca. Steve is familiar with all aspects of sailing from Grand Prix racing offshore cruising. Steve races locally as well as internationally with a resume that includes:

Teri Moore Teri is back with the Sail California team after a 2 year sailing adventure down to Mexico and back aboard her J/42. She is an avid sailor cruising, the bay, delta and offshore for almost 20 years. She is a long time member and staff commodore at Encinal Yacht club. Give Teri a call or better yet stop by to see her at the office, you will find her nosing around the docks most any weekend.

Pat Nolan
With tons of experience as a racing helmsman, cruiser and powerboater, Pat brings a wide variety of knowledge to our team. Pat has sailed across the Atlantic several times and has gone back and forth to Mexico many times as well, most recently on his Pacemaker 48 Sportfisher. Pat started out his racing career when he bought a J 42 and did the ocean series outside San Francisco bay. After winning the ocean series Pat then upped the ante and bought a J 125 which he drove to a win in the St. Francis Big Boat Series. He also set the elapsed time record for the Vallejo Race which still stands. Currently Pat owns a J 100 that he day sails and fun races on the bay. Pat is also very active at the St. Francis Yacht Club, he was chairman of the board in 2008 and is now happily a Staff Commodore having just completed his three years thru the chairs.

Tom Sitzmann
Tom is Sail-Cal's east coast rep, partnering with his company, Sail1Design.
Tom Sitzmann is a lifelong sailor, with 30 years of coastal and blue-water transatlantic cruising experience. Also a veteran of offshore races from Maine to Annapolis and Bermuda, Tom helped deliver Midshipman crews safely to Bermuda while coaching at the US Naval Academy, and also completed a transatlantic passage aboard an Alden 44. He is the former head coach of the nationally recognized Severn School Sailing Team. In just his third year with the program, under Tom's guidance, Severn School won the Mallory Trophy, US High School Sailing's National Championship. Severn is the first and only Chesapeake Bay school ever to win a National Championship.
Sitzmann came to Severn after working as the head coach for the Bowdoin College intercollegiate dinghy sailing team in 1999-2005, where he led the Polar Bears to new heights in team racing, dinghy and women's sailing. While in Maine he also started his own successful sail-making business. Before Bowdoin, Sitzmann coached sailing at the US Naval Academy.
Sitzmann has won New-England and Mid-Atlantic district championships in the Laser and J/24 classes, and holds top national finishes in the J/24 & J/22 Classes. He now sails with his family.

Travis is Sail-Cal's service manager.
Travis is a life long sailor having grown up helping his dad out on many a sail check.
