Robinhood 36 Cutter
Designed to provide her owner's comfort and safety in the widest range of conditions. Whether transversing an open ocean, or day sailing on Chesapeake Bay, the Robinhood 36 is equally at home. Designed by Carl Alberg as the Cape Dory 36, the Robinhood 36 has now become a classic in her own time. Her reputation of sea kindliness and rugged construction has followed her throughout the world. Now, Robinhood Marine has refined the quality of finish and expanded her features, offering the best value in a mid-size cruising yacht.
Starting with his time proven full keel design, Carl Alberg gave the Robinhood 36 nice cut-a-ways to her forefoot and after sections. This provides excellent maneuverability and windward performance and makes the Robinhood 36, lively, spirited and a delight to sail even in lighter conditions. And, pressed with ocean gales, the Robinhood 36 proves her strength and sea kindliness every time. With a fine entry and moderate beam, she is comfortable and easily driven through the widest range of conditions. And, her 5' draft is deep enough to be plenty effective yet allows her to cruise where many others can't.
The Robinhood 36 features an interior layout that is spacious beyond all expectations. Her U-shaped, offshore proven galley is compact and efficient. Features such as a 3 burner propane stove with oven, a double stainless steel sink, a large, well insulated icebox and more than ample storage will delight any sailing chef. The large navigation center is well placed by the companionway and features plenty of space for mounting electronics when desired. The main cabin has settees port and starboard, which become spacious berths, one of which can convert to a double. A bulkhead mounted table allows for plenty of floor space for moving about the cabin. The head area features a built-in vanity, a self regulating shower system and high quality marine head. Forward is the v-berth cabin which is roomy and allows for use as a double berth.
The wide, spacious decks, combined with the outboard mounted shrouds make sailing the vessel a pure delight. Generous teak toe rails and hand rails are highly practical while enhancing the beauty of the Robinhood 36. Further complimentary are the teak rub rails, bow sprit and eyebrow molding accenting her traditional lines. The cockpit is ergonomically designed to be extremely comfortable at anchor or at sea, while keeping its size appropriate for an offshore vessel. It features full length seats with a cut out by the wheel, a bridge deck for offshore safety and high coamings for security and comfort. Generous storage is available through 4 seat cockpit lockers.
Each Robinhood Yacht is meticulously crafted at our waterfront yard in Maine by a highly skilled team of craftsmen. The hull of the Robinhood 36 is constructed of hand laid solid fiberglass, the outer skins of which are laminated with vinylester resins. The deck to hull attachment engineering is the best and most proven; a wide internal flange on which the deck is seated, bonded and then through-bolted on 10" centers. Equipped with our own trademark Spartan bronze hardware, state of the art Harken sailing gear and outfitted to the owner's requirements. Each Robinhood 36 is admired wherever she travels.
