The NY 40 class was developed by the New York Yacht Club in the late 1970’s to be a performance oriented, comfortable cruisers (PHRF 90). Designed by Doug Peterson of San Diego, and constructed by one of America's finest builders, Palmer Johnson of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, the NY 40 has beautiful lines, a flush deck that is safe and easy to work on, a deep roomy cockpit, and a full teak interior.
She is easily sailed by a couple and has been frequently single handed by past owners. This boat has been well maintained throughout her history, second owner, excellent condition throughout, well equipped, and pleasing to the eye in every respect.
The NY40's are still successfully raced today as a class in NYYC club events and other major off-shore regattas.
