Service

The Oxford Yacht Agency image Our service department operates out of our yard in Trappe. The large buildings allow us to execute repairs, service, maintenance, and upgrades no matter the time of year or weather. Our skilled service department can tackle any kind of retrofit or rebuild with a staff consisting of marine mechanics, yacht carpenters, electricians, fiberglass technicians and detailers. We can do a complete re-fit your current yacht or, a pre-owned yacht that you are considering for purchase. We can add the features and amenities you are looking for to make the boat your dream. Customizing a yacht to your specifications is usually a fraction of the cost and time of building or purchasing a new one.
Situated at the head of La Trappe Creek, Dickerson Harbor is home to a number of local power and sail boats. Slips range in size from those appropiate for daysailers and runabouts to ocean passagemakers and luxury yachts.

Hours of operation are technically Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30. However on any given weekday it's not uncommon to find members of OYA'staff on site wrapping up a job, launching a boat or any number of functions.

With seven plus acres, 70 and 30 ton travelifts, immense inside storage and service areas, and plus areas for "dry" long and short term storage, yard capacity in most any desired area is right there.

By land, US Route 50 runs East to West from Ocean City MD to San Diego, CA. At Rt. 50 mile marker 73 a turn on to Maple Avenue, a stop at the intersection of Maple and Main, then straight across the intersection and a mile or so down on the left, turn left on Trappe Landing Road. One half mile o the left is the yard entrance.

The Oxford Yacht Agency image By water, it's even easier to find. La Trappe Creek empties into the Choptank river about 3 miles upriver from the Oxford light on the Tred Avon. The creek is on the North side of the Choptank and well marked. One needs only to honor the markers and follow the channel. As one arrives at the yard, one first finds a public boat ramp off to port, followed by a series of slips also to port. The slip area curves off to the left to a cut with more slips, generally for smaller boats. To starboard in the cut is an open bulkhead with a gin pole. This area is a staging area for a number of functions and also serves as a convenient place to tie up for a brief visit. Behind the bulkhead are two large buildings, the first and closest to the water houses the staff, restroom, and ships store.
