Mark Gilbert CPYB has been working in Seattle as a yacht broker since 1983.
In May of 2013, Discovery Yachts merged with NW Yachtnet, a very successful Tacoma-based operation. Along with an extensive inventory of brokerage power and sail, NW Yachtnet represents Grand Soleil Yachts (sail) from Italy and Fathom Yachts (power) built right here in the Northwest. This merger allows Mark to even better serve his clientele, with an expanded inventory of brokerage boats, both power & sail, more marketing clout & energetic new ownership committed to long-term service & success in Northwest yacht sales.
Mark has enjoyed boating trips on the coast of Washington, in the San Juan Islands, test sails in Long Island, the Chesapeake, South Carolina/Intracoastal, Florida/Keys, Mexico, San Diego, Los Angeles area and San Francisco Bay, and, in the summer of 2008, a two-week offshore sail training experience aboard the Hallberg-Rassy 46 “Mahina Tiare” from Scotland to Sweden. His career has always been focused on assisting folks with bigger dreams requiring more substantial cruising boats. His association with a variety of very high quality product lines, as well as a broad range of brokerage cruising designs, has made Mark very effective as both a buyer’s broker and as a listing broker.
Professionally, when the nationwide program for Certified Professional Yacht Brokers was established a few years ago as an effort to raise the level of professionalism in the industry, Mark was one of the very first to apply for, test and gain the CPYB designation. Personal and professional integrity, along with a lot of experience helping folks not only to buy and sell boats, but to realize their dreams and aspirations for adventure and recreation, have kept many of Mark’s clients returning as repeat customers, and new customers are always in for a positive and rewarding experience.

Paris Woodard CPYB, a Pacific Northwest native was five when first experienced the magic of the San Juans and got hooked on boating. He has continued to boat ever since. He is a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB). Paris and his wife have cruised extensively locally and in Canada and currently live aboard their 50′ pilot house motoryacht at Shilshole Bay Marina. Paris serves as a Dock Captain on F-Dock and is Vice President of the Shilshole Liveaboard Association. Not surprisingly, he continued the family tradition and took his own son to the San Juans for the first time, also at age five. The magic had the same effect on his son who now lives aboard at Shilshole, a few docks away from Paris and his wife!
Pointers from Paris:
“If you like to golf, call the course on Galiano, they will pick you up where the Hummingbird Pub bus does. It is a lot of fun, you can have the course to yourself (almost) on an 80 degree day, try that in Seattle!
Princess Louisa is a place that all boaters should visit. It is not that far, only 200 miles from Anacortes. The first time you see it, a chill will go up your spine.
