Q-What is the ASA? A- The American Sailing Association instruction is the oldest and in our opinion, the best sailing instruction available. In addition, upon certification, ASA credentials are recognized worldwide. This enables you to sail with major charter companies, many of which offer discounts to ASA members. A sailboat owner with ASA certification is offered reduced premiums by most all insurance companies...let your agent know that you have certification.
Q-What type of vessels are used for training? A-Norton's uses late model Hunter or Jeanneau sailboats with inboard power and wheel steering. The new (or nearly new) vessel is well equipped with options and CG requirements. Boat sizes range from 28 to 34 feet.
Q-Will you teach me on my boat? A-Yes! We are happy to provide instruction on your boat, however, you are responsible for having all safety gear as required by the CG. Norton's does not charge dockage during sailing school when the owner's boat is docked at Norton Yachts.
Q-What about accommodations in Deltaville? A-We are happy to supply a list of local accommodations from basic to luxury, including some wonderful B&B's.
