About Northshore Yachts
Northshore was established in 1971 at Emsworth Shipyard and, at the same time, a mouldings division was also set up in Havant to produce the plugs, moulds and hulls. With a buoyant order book, production increased and during 1973, Northshore acquired larger waterside premises at Itchenor (pictured below) to give the much needed extra capacity, together with launching facilities.
It is from this delightful setting, based in Chichester Harbour that Northshore build their yachts today. In 2005, a new factory was completed, to provide further capacity to meet the growing demands for quality built boats for customers from around the world.
One of the most important aspects about Northshore is that it has its roots firmly embedded by the sea. The skilled workforce take immense pride in every boat built. Most of Northshore's labour force have served full apprenticeships and may come from local, second and even third generation boat building families.
Northshore controls every aspect of construction, from moulding the hulls to fit out and launch, ensuring the highest standards are maintained throughout the build process. With over 30 years experience in the boat building industry, Northshore have become respected for their quality of build and renowned for combining their traditional skills, together with the latest technology.
As well as moulding hulls and decks for Southerly, Fisher and Vancouver, Northshore have been the first choice for other leading names such as Camper & Nicholson, Bowman, Trintella and Orkney. Modern plugmaking techniques are combined with traditional skills. From precise setting up of laser cut frames, fitting stringers, building up diagonal planking and finishing, the plug is then used to make the new mould. Find out more about Northshore here.
