Northrop and Johnson has been a part of the Newport yachting scene since 1966. No other yacht brokerage can claim such consistency or tradition. As the area has grown and embraced the sport of yachting, so has the Newport office. We are fortunate to have assembled a crew with a depth of experience that sets us apart from most other yacht brokerage firms. Six of our seven brokers have earned the CPYB distinction. Even the resumes of some of our office staff reflect an extent of yachting experience beyond that of many of today’s yacht brokers.

We are prepared to handle the intricacies of a transaction in any corner of the globe, in any currency, with an understanding of the relevant regulations to that yacht and to the new owner’s needs. When we contact the greater yacht brokerage community worldwide to promote one of our listings or to inquire the details of a particular yacht, the name Northrop and Johnson is accorded an immediate respect. This earns results for our clients.

Northrop and Johnson maintains a presence at every major boat show in the world. With additional offices in Fort Lauderdale, France and California we offer strategic advantages to our clients, whether they are buying or selling.

After fifty celebrated years in business, we look forward to the next fifty.

IMPOSSIBLE DREAM is one of two similar motor yachts built by Jongert in the mid 1980s.  Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, she is the heavier (though shallower draft) and larger in length, beam, and accommodation of the two. She underwent an extensive refit in 2007, which included a significant re-design of her interior spaces. Her galley was brought up from below decks and a fourth stateroom, additional head and media room added in the galley’s place. Additionally, the aft deck was extended four feet into the cockpit to allow for more space and private crew accommodations. IMPOSSIBLE DREAM’s engine room was gutted and rebuilt with all new equipment, rendering her in fully restored condition with an extremely strong structure and mechanics.
