Steve started with Northrop and Johnson in 1995 in the Beverly office. In 1996 while traveling to Florida on a deal Steve met Paula. Paula and Steve were married in 1999. Paula was able to offer a great deal to every transaction and was soon traveling worldwide with Steve. In 2007 Steve purchased Northrop and Johnson of Massachusetts.

Steve has a winning personality and a quick wit. He has a large and loyal customer base, partly as a result of his ability to make things happen. He has enormous energy and enthusiasm and an uncanny ability to identify and solve problems.

Steve is an avid skier, having been an instructor at Wildcat Mountain in New Hampshire. He is also an accomplished equestrian, having owned and showed several champion show horses. Steve's bottom line is that buying and owning a luxury yacht has to be a fun experience!



Northrop and Johnson - Yacht Brokers image George Georges has been a Yacht Broker/Partner at Northrop and Johnson since 1993. He has been closely involved with the building of N&J's Sport Fishing market share and he has been active in recruiting and training of new brokers.

George graduated from Northeastern University in the early '80s and worked as an independent insurance consultant providing health and retirement plans to medium sized corporations. His first love was boating and in the early '90s he decided to put his selling and promotional skills to work in the yachting industry. Since joining Northrop and Johnson as a Partner/Director he has developed a loyal customer base. He is recognized as an expert in the 40' - 60' Sportfishing market in both production and custom yachts.

George spends his summers aboard his Post 46', LIQUID ASSETS, cruising New England whenever his busy schedule allows. George has a great deal of energy and enthusiasm and can often be found working in the office late in the evening. George is a member of the Yacht Brokers Association of America and holds a Florida Yacht Brokers License. Northrop and Johnson is proud to have him on their team.

Northrop and Johnson - Yacht Brokers image Robert Leslie started in yacht brokerage in 1973 working as a yacht broker for Graves Yacht Yard. During the late '70s and early '80s Bob spent considerable time ocean racing sailboats in the North Atlantic. He competed in five Newport to Bermuda Races as Watch Captain on FLIRT OF PAGET and LOOSE GOOSE as well as numerous SORC Regattas and hundreds of local regattas in New England.

In 1985 Robert purchased the Massachusetts office of Northrop and Johnson. Under his leadership the company has grown to be one of the largest yacht brokerages in the Northeast.

In the past 35 years Robert has sold many significant yachts in the 80' - 150' range to a loyal customer base here in the US as well as Europe and Asia. Robert served as president of the Yacht Architects and Brokers Association from 1990 to 1992 and has served as a Director of that organization for a total of 8 years. He also has served on various committees at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead. Robert earned the prestigous Certified Professional Yacht Broker designation by passing an exhaustive writen examination in 2004. He joins an elite group of only 80 Yacht Brokers to hold this title.

Robert lives in Marblehead with his wife Elizabeth and his son, Scott. Robert enjoys skiing in New Hampshire where he is active in Alpine Ski Racing in the USSA Masters league. Robert is also an avid squash player, cyclist and bad golfer.


Northrop and Johnson - Yacht Brokers image Peter Griffin has over 25 years experience in the marine industry. He was General Manager and owner of Great Bay Marine a Full service Yacht Yard and Yacht brokerage in Newington, NH. In the early 90’s Peter established Great Bay Orient a marine manufacturers rep. firm specializing in the Pacific Rim.

Peter is an avid yachtsman with offshore racing and one design buoy racing experience. He also has extensive delivery and cruising experience. He enjoys cruising with his wife and children on their Swan 77 around Maine and the Caribbean. Over the years the family has also chartered many power yachts over 135'.

Clients look to Peter for his knowledge of yacht yards, crews and large sail and motor yachts.

Peter lives in Boston with his wife and two young children. When not working around yachts peter enjoys surfing and performance-driving. He has many years experience on the racetracks of New England and Canada.

Peter is a member of the Portsmouth Yacht Club, a trustee of the New England Aquarium and the Yacht Brokers Association of America. He also holds a Florida yacht brokers license.

Northrop and Johnson - Yacht Brokers image Bill Mitchell joins Northrop and Johnson after an exceptional career as a sales and marketing entrepreneur in the technology industry. He honed his marketing and negotiating skills in the extremely competitive high tech arena. He has launched and developed several well known companies. Bill is well equipped to professionally list and market quality yachts at Northrop and Johnson.

Bill got his first taste of the sea as he grew up on the shores of Buzzards Bay racing Beetle Cats. He is an experienced yachtsman having cruised the waters around Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and the Caribbean. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts/Amherst School of Engineering with a MBA from Boston University.

Northrop and Johnson - Yacht Brokers image Ron, a licensed USCG Captain, has over 40 years of experience operating all kinds of boats. In addition to yacht brokerage, he has over 30 years of experience in various service industries and direct sales including a Custom Furniture/Marine Woodworking business, a yacht charter business and aircraft sales and marketing. As an avid yachtsman and instrument rated pilot, he is either in the water, on the water or flying over it whenever possible!

Ron is uniquely qualified to find the right yacht for his clients as well as provide personal air travel solutions. He lives aboard his 56’ Hatteras motoryacht in Boston Harbor and is immersed in the lifestyle! He is a welcome addition to the Northrop and Johnson sales team.
