"WANDA" is reported completely rebuilt over the last several years. Her structure, machinery, wiring & other systems  are newly rebuilt/replaced by some of the best professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is absolutely exquisite and unique. Having been designed by "Ted" Geary & built by Blanchard of Seattle in 1922, there can be no finer petigree for a classic yacht in the Pacific Northwest. This vessel is a must-see dreamboat,  She is an extremely rare & desirable offering. It is important to emphasize that it would be difficult to purchase a classic vessel in need of simple restoration (as opposed to rebuilding) & do the years of work to bring her even near "WANDA's" current condition for anything nearly as reasonable as "WANDA" can be purchased right now.

Wanda was built in 1922 as a custom coastal cruiser at the well-known Blanchard Boatyard in Seattle WA, by renowned Pacific Northwest Naval Architect Leslie ("Ted") Geary for C. D. Stimson, a Lumber Baron in the Pacific Northwest in the early 1900’s.

She is one of the rare Classic Fantail motor yachts left in the world.

In 1940, a Salon was added to her main deck. In 1943, Wanda was commandeered by the U.S. Navy for coastal sub-watch duty due to her speed, size and wooden hull. The Navy replaced her three gas sterling engines with two GM Detroit Diesel 671’s.

Throughout her life Wanda has been berthed in Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay. She won the Alaska long-distance Classic Yacht Race in the 1960’s -- a 1000 mile port to port race.

Wanda was purchased by Ret. Captain Andrew Roettger. Capt. Roettger dry-docked her at Richardson Bay Boat Works, Sausalito, owner/operator Ross Sommers, son of the well-known Captain/builder and shipwright, Harold Sommers. Sommers operates one of the last ‘ways’ in San Francisco Bay, one of the old Liberty Shipyard ways used to build the famous WWII ‘Liberty Ships'.

At Ross’s yard, 126 of Wanda's 180 oak frames were replaced, in addtion to the Carling. Capt. Roettger ordered 4000 linear feet of Port Orford cedar planking (about 60%) replaced and 12,000 new silicone bronze fasteners replaced. All of her teak rub rails and rail decks have also been replaced.

Vessel is insured, USCG Documented & moored in r premium view berth.in Sausalito on San Francisco Bay.
